as i told you on twitter, i did kind of love the episode. i wasn't blown away by it, but i suppose that nothing they could open the season with was going to, after last season's finale. (and season five, in its entirety, really not that good a season, imho, but that might be because i'm totally not -and never am going to be- a cas!fan.)
i've got a few issues with this ep, one of them actually is orange!lisa, but also the fact that they could've done more with the reunion - or more specifically, dean's reaction after the reunion. also, i agree with you on not feeling the campbells. i don't feel any sympathy for them whatsoever and i feel their introduction was too rushed.
but i kinda like new!hand-on!sammy. even if he was being cold and detached (my theory is that he's shutting out all feelings in order to cope with being in hell and all - or that maybe sam has not returned at all and the campbells are playing dean, but i think that one might be a bit far-fetched.) and i'm very curious to see how they're going to let the relationship between the brothers develop. i hope they talk about it a lot while they're sitting in the impala. (how it broke my heart when i saw her under the tarp! and when sammy refused the keys! POOR BABY.)
as for lisa, i hope that she doesn't get too much screentime before she gets to grow a pair. i mean, she basically said their relationship wasn't working and she was still begging dean to stay. she was so much cooler back in season three.
I love season five, and not just because of Cas, I just love the arc and the episodes were really chock full of all that I love about the show, you know?
The whole ep seemed rushed to me, and throwing the Campbells in there was so sudden, I think. I would've liked Sam and Dean to have more, I don't know, something...in that ep.
