Unholy water, sanguine addiction, those silver bullets, a last blood benediction...

Massive internet make out session to the first person that knows what that subject line is from, without the help of our friend Google ;)

So. I like, uh, werewolves? Yeah, I really do. Vampires are great, of course, but I always preferred the wolf stories. So, of course, we went to go see Wolfman this weekend. I won't spoil it or anything with major details, instead I'll just tell you I really enjoyed it and my goodness was it gorgeous to look at. It had a sort of old school horror movie vibe, the werewolves were classic looking (think original Wolfman) and Benicio del Toro, while not what I would call classically handsome or sexy or anything, had a sort of raw sexuality about him that was perfect for the dual-natured role. Also? I liked Emily Blunt in an understated sort of way. Anthony Hopkins...well, that man is not my favorite actor. I find most times he's far too campy for my taste, Legends of the Fall and Silence of the Lambs being the exceptions for me. (Ugh, as much as I love Coppola's Dracula, I can't stand both him and Keanu Reeves in the movie. Of course, Gary Oldman as Dracula makes that all better for me.) He was what I expected in this, nothing more or less.

Then? Continuing my theme of werewolf, we went to the Harry Potter exhibit at the Museum of Science, where I drooled all over both Snape's and Lupin's costumes. Gah. Fangirl!Jen was ridiculously pleased. They didn't allow photos, or else I'd be posting them all here, but in all honesty, it likely wouldn't have done the thing justice. The whole experience was brilliant, and at the point where you walk through the gates and enter their recreation of the Great Hall was breathtaking. The score was playing, the candles danced in the air, the feast was set out...Brilliant. The exhibit ends in a couple of weeks here in Boston, and I am not sure where it is headed next, but if it comes to a city near you check it out, if you can.

A nice bonus? We bought a membership to the museum...again (we let ours run out a couple of years ago) and that means a bunch more trips there this year! Peter navigates that place now like it's his own house, it's quite amusing. He's already talking about wanting to go to the whales exhibit on his birthday in June (to which I almost replied, "They are not the hell your whales.") followed by a tour on the Duck Boats and then lunch at Fanueil Hall. :)

i love all sorts of movies, in which i talk more about my kid, happy!jen is happy, fangirl squeeing, i love that dirty water, vampires werewolves and zombies oh my
