5.
Watchmen I know a lot of people just didn't like it, but you know what? I did. Yeah, it was way too long and whatsherface in her yellow and black really annoys the piss out of me but you know what? Three words. Jeffrey. Dean. Morgan. I wish he would just hurry up and come out with a new movie already... (when do The Losers and Red Dawn come out, anyway?)
4. The Wrestler. I know it technically came out in 2008 but I saw it at the theaters in 2009 and I fell in love with it. It's not a pretty movie and it hurts to watch and maybe that is why I like it so much? I have such a soft spot for Mickey Rourke and when I heard he was making this epic comeback I was thrilled. I can't rec this movie enough. And, uh, hello, naked, gorgeous Marisa Tomei? Nice bonus ;)

3. The Time Traveler's Wife. No, it isn't as good as the book, but I fail to see how any movie could be, in this instance, anyway. This is one of my favorite books, ever, come to life in a way, for me, that really works. I have to note that Half Blood Prince is also a fave of mine and after recently re-watching it, I am reminded at how let down I felt by that movie adaptation. This though, this works, some stuff is left out, sure, but the heart of the thing is there and hey Eric Bana is quite nice to look at. It even made me not hate Rachel McAdams anymore!

2. Up. Me and mine all left the theater wiping our eyes, but in that feel good sort of way. I think this is one of Pixar's best offerings, beautiful and funny and touching without making you feel like you were just preached to. (I have mad love for Pixar stuff, my son counts Ratatouille, Toy Story 1 and 2 and Cars as his favorite movies. I think I may have seen each of them 387 times or so by now...)This bit here when you meet Kevin, the bird, is one of my faves from one stellar movie :)
