Catastrophe, calamity!

I should have stayed home last night.

But instead I wen to Play with an old co-worker/friend Jeff and his nerve wrecking commrade Shaun who apparently lived with Lindsey, Dewey and Meredith in Boone, NC when Meredith was attempting to rid everyone else of their nasty meth addiction. Shaun idolizes Lindsey and other addicts like him. Shaun cant' stand still nor can he stay in one place before abandoning all responsibility. Shaun wants to be roommates. No, Shaun.

So, they both convince me to go to Play. Shaun found a hundred dollar bill on the ground at the Beer Sellar and offered to buy dinks. Which he did, when he was around which wasn't very often. In fact, if Kelly and his boyfriend hadn't shown up or that random 18 year old gay thug named Joe hadn't attached himself to me, I would have been solo. Jeff and Shaun were both so self absorbed I thought they had, at more than one point in the night, left me. Everyone at that place was swlf absorbed. Their friend Steve, though very nice, was the most high maintenance gay man I've ever met. His personality alone is so exhausting as is his constant need for recognition and reassurance. I couldn't keep up.

At 3 AM after a little over 3 hours of Jeff watching himself dance in a mirror he finally, as he said, took me home. I got an exhausting 5 hours of sleep before dragging myself to work for a shift I, for some reason, volunteered for. One the way I manaed to nearly take a tumble on the bus, get crushed by the bus doors, and almost walk into traffic.

As of now I'm supposed to be at the Worsties show with Greg at 3rd and Lindsley, but I fell asleep. I really wanted to see them since two of the members were regulars, and very nice ones, at my old job, but I was so exhausted after work and hauling groceries from eastland home on the bus, not to mention the smoke out session, that I nodded off. I'm surprised I woke up before noon tomorrow. However, having just eaten, I'm sure I'll be back in bed in no time.
