Home again, home again

After getting my car all put back together, I bid my farewells in Navasota and went up to College Station. Before I left, Becca was kind enough to buy me some gas, and we talked for a few minutes about the things that had happened to me in the last few days. It's being able to talk to her about difficult things that reminds me what a great friend she is.

In College Station, I met with my friend Becky for dinner (not really dinner, as I just had a soda. I had just ninja'd someones leftovers in Navasota). Becky didn't have a lot of news, but her kids are adorable. Zarya (sp?) is getting big, and Morna has developed quite the personality (double-edged sword, there).

After leaving Pepe's Cafe, I came to a startling realization: I had nowhere to go! I couldn't just go home and chill for an hour or two! That was kind of eye-opening. It kind of crystallized the idea that I had moved out of B/CS. I went to Coffee Station to relax for a bit, which was very nice. I struck up a conversation with Wes, a complete stranger, and it turned out that we have similar interests. We ended up talking about different philosophies of life, and how consciousness affects(effects) reality. I recommended he see What the Bleep?, and he agreed, because that movie had been continuously showing up in his life for a while now. It's amazing how paths cross, and when...

I invite Stacy out to Coffee Station to lounge about and chat for a while, until it was time to go to POETS. We had a good chat about how things are going with work and her living situation. She told me to make sure I have time off available in October. I tremble to think of the nefarious plot she must have brewing. I also extended her an invite to work for T-Mobile, since she's currently in a life situation that might lend itself to the move. I also invited Rob, one of my agents, because he's thinking about moving to Plano anyway. It would work out very well for him.

About 9 or so, we headed over to POETS and got a pool table. That nice girl bought me a beer, and I wiped the table with her in a game or two of 8-ball. It never fails, I do very well when it's just me and her, but when we have an audience, well, I suck. I had a great time, though, chatting with my friends about the new job, and their escapades at West. I told them about the letter I'd written to the higher-ups at West, advising them of the situation at the site. It will be interesting to see how that develops. After much craziness, including a small hickey-chain (guilty parties will remain nameless here), which I managed to mostly avoid, we adjourned, as usual, to Kettle, where we proceeded to make much noise, as it was Juan's birthday, and Donny took it upon himself to use the PA in Kettle to announce this to everyone, as well as sing "Happy Birthday", all at high volume. Oh, and he'd also set off a bottle rocket in the parking lot before leaving POETS, right as a police car was going by. They either didn't notice or ignored it. Very funny stuff.

Around 5 in the morning, I took Stacy back to her car, and crashed at Brie's place for the rest of the night. I got up around 10 and headed back up here to get to work on time. I slept a little funny, as Eowyn (sp? again) and Thag, the two cats in the house, kept getting into it, chasing each other around and fighting, and Brie's parrot, Cyrano, mumbles at night. It's something I'll remember for some time.

The drive was uneventful, as was class, though I did meet some of our senior reps. I'm a trifle confused, as some of them came from a ClientLogic site as coaches. I wasn't offered a senior rep position *grumbles*. Must've been a logistical error. I'll have to go take my rightful place as soon as conditions permit *grins*. I was reminded of the heavy black-pop (no racism intended here) culture concentration in my class during a T-Mobile product ad; a clip of "Get Low" played, and the entire room seemed to explode with decidedly black cheers...the blacks in my class are VERY loud, and very stereotypical. It's moderately vexing.

I'm wired, and tired. I think I'm going to crash soon, so I can call the lady from West in the morning. I got an e-mail back from her, and she wants to talk about the things I wrote in my letter to her. I'm hoping this works out well for my comrades-in-arms back at West.

Oh, and I seem to have found something that I'm allergic to, because all day today, especially after getting back to Dallas, I've been sniffly and congested. Now my eyes are watering and my nose is running, even after the Allegra and Sudafed. I've also been coughing stuff up like a pack-a-day smoker. It's yucky. I'll be happier when I'm rid of this stuff.

And one more thing. When I started my car this evening, only the low-fuel light came on. It appears that the problem may have been fixed completely by the little tune-up!
