Well, today was pretty much the same story. When I went to pick up my co-worker and take him to his class, it turned out he was still trying to get enough money together to get his girlfriend's car back from the towing company. So I drove home and pretty promptly crashed out on the couch. I was almost late to work, but managed to squeak in on time.
Training for today was more of the same. Anthony has to keep silencing me because I keep bringing up things that he doesn't want to teach yet. I'm just happy to have my tools to twiddle with. I don't spend very much time sitting at my terminal; most of the time Anthony's got me up running the web-based training or demo-ing the tools that he's teaching. It's slightly less dry, I'll admit. I'm still hoping that we'll hit a topic that I don't already know. As it is, I keep looking at my previous training and questioning why at least part of the West center isn't Tier 2. Almost everything that Tier 2 does, our best agents came up with because they wanted to do more. I really must finish the e-mail to West higher-ups, because my amigos back at West don't deserve the treatment they're getting. Of course, given my druthers, I'd just bring all of my friends up here with me. OK, that's not true. I'd take the call center down there if I could really have my way.
I'm planning to go down to College Station and Navasota this weekend, right after work. That should be interesting...a 4 hour drive, starting at 11:30 at night. Especially with the shiny new "Check Engine" light that just showed in my Corolla. My mileage is suffering somewhat as well. I'm going to replace her spark plugs while down in Navasota for Litha. I can't afford a wiring harness right now, so the plugs will have to do. It should be enough for now. I think it would be good to put her in the shop for a general checkup, because there's a number of little quirky noises that may or may not be normal. I also need to replace the brake pads and shoes...a project for another day. It's all waiting on the money to start flowing again.
