002 - Smallville Season 9 Round-Up
Including my favourite episode, character, scenes and fanart.
FAVOURITE EPISODE
This episode had everything you could ever want from Smallville: Clark and Lois angst and comedy, Ollie in hot sweaty depression, Tess being the HBIC she is, a trip to the Fortress and some good ol’ detective work. Gets two massive thumbs up from me. Oh and that last Clois scene = adn””??@sdpp,v;!@£nsnln aka so.damn.good!
FAVOURITE CHARACTER
Normally, when people select their favourite character its rarely the main one, but I love me some CK/Blur. He really came into his own in the first half of this season, stepping out of Chloe’s, and others, influence and carving his own path. In so many ways he moved closer to the Clark Kent and Superman of the comics, which is exactly what I had hoped the creative team at SVHQ would do, so kudos for reading my mind so well.
FAVOURITE MINOR CHARACTER
The misunderstood villain has always been a favourite of mine, and Metallo fits the bill in every respect. I loved the character of John Corben and his sassiness, being able to give Lois as good as he got, and his portrayal of Metallo, avenging the death of his sister causing him to loose perspective on good/evil. Not only was his dual-character a joy to watch, but he forced our favourite Daily Planet journalist to reconsider completely shutting himself off to (lois) the world.
FAVOURITE RELATIONSHIP
Gorgeous. Perfect. Funny. Heartbreaking. Touching. C-L-O-I-S.
FAVOURITE CHARACTER ARC
From absolute train-wreck to outstanding hero, throw in a little futuristic-rebel and zombie hunter and you just found my favourite character arc of the first nine episodes. Oliver went through so much this year and came out better for it on the other side, lets hope there’s not so much depression for the rest of his season. Though he’s got the heartbroken expression down to a T.
MOST BEAUTIFULLY SHOT EPISODE
Woah, I could stare at the pretty for hours. The photographic team at SVHQ really outdid themselves with this episode, literally mind blowing sets in every scene.
FAVOURITE POTENTIAL RELATIONSHIP
Schmexy villainous UST. No one does it better than our Zest, you know its going to happen. Every scene with them together, even when violence is involved, especially when violence is involved, is hot and awesome. More please...NOW!

FAVOURITE ICONS
Clearly a very tiny portion of all the Smallville icons made for the first 9 episodes, but I find each one of these have that little extra creative flair. They’re a testament to just how artistic and talented the Smallville fandom is.
FAVOURITE HEADER + WALLPAPER
Clearly these two choices are highly influence by my LOVE of Clois, but if you haven’t already, you should definitely check these two makers out, they produce some of the best large graphics around.
