On the List

Hey there. Why do weekends go so fast? already Sunday and in 24 hours I have to go to work for. Ah well, I will just seize the day I guess. I have spent most of the weekend cleaning, and re-organizing. The volume of paper and junk that comes though this house simply amazes me. I would LOVE to just throw it all out but having a contracting business just won't allow me to do that. I try to maintain some level of organization but I gotta tell you sometimes it jsut gets away from me. So today I shall finish and be ORGANIZED AGAIN!

Last night hubby and I went out for dinner. First we tried the The Keg, first we were forced to park a block and a half away. The th hostess upstairs says there is a half hour wait for a table in the dining room, but says we can try down in the bar. So we go down there and NOPE no table. So back to the truck, we go to Kelsey's. We got a table there but we would have been better off waiting the half hour for a table at the Keg. The service was terrible and SLOW.

It took more than 10 minutes for the waitress to come take our drink order, which by the time she did finally come, we were ready to order.

It then took another 10 minutes for our drinks to come, and when she did bring them hubby got a bottle of Kokane and not the mug of draft he asked for. THEN 10 15 minutes later I had to ASK for our appetizer!!! to which her response was "Oh you ordered an appetizer? what was it" *eye roll*. This was the same time that I pointed out that the table next to us was ALSO trying to get the waitresses attention.

Get and eat our appetizer, which was good. and we sat and WAITED for our entree'. In the meantime we watched a group of 3 walk out the door as they got their food... they had been there BEFORE we got there. Shortly after they left we got our food... I gotta be honest with you, I think my meal was came off the table that left (uneaten and untouched of course). Why do I say that? well because I seen the same meal delivered to that table. It WAS COLD, I ordered my steak medium, this one was rare, I ordered a baked potatoe this one had mashed. and the steak tasted all but what I had been anticipating. I even let My husband have a taste of it and he 100% agreed that is tasted like crap.

Oh and I forgot to mention the flies that came with the meal!!! 2 of the buggers buzzing around our food. Really gross.

So I pushed my plate away and said that I was going to complain. Haubby gave me the card to pay, and went to start the truck. I waited to speak to the manager and lodged my complaints. AS a result the manager advised that the 'meal' (and use that term loosely - because I didn't even eat). Was on the house -- so basically we got 2 beer, on $6.00 drink, hubbys so-so meal and the appy, for free. The manager also asked me how our waitress was; I was completely honest and told him 'terrible and a little timid', he thanked me for being honest and said it was her first night. I didn't even feel bad about saying what I said when he told me it was her first night. I understand the learning process but someone should have been supervising her in timing. 10 minutes to have your drink order taken and then 10 minutes to get your drinks and so on, is not good.

So the manager made it right, but I can't see us going back there. Now there are 2 resturants in this city we will not go back to Kelseys and Dennys... oh and Egans for me, because I find them VERY slow... but hubby will go back because like all the male population in this city, likes the short little kilt type skirts the waitresses wear.

Needless to say we would have been better off and done quicker had we waited the 1/2 hour at the keg.

Off to go be the queen of organization now. Have a great Sunday.
