I'm having a baby...but you already knew that!
So the ultrasound was amazing. It took about 2 hours but it was well worth it. They do a complete anatomic scan of the baby. Head to toe, the measure everything and make sure everything is on track. I didn't get to see the screen for about the first hour and a half. Then they went and got Mark and showed us our baby together. Mark actually saw the screen before I did and I almost cried when I saw his face. He just lit up. He's going to be such a good dad. We did find out the sex of the baby. I don't want to just announce it here so if you want to know send me a message and I will tell you! I bought a few little things for the baby's room and some clothes ( I couldn't stand it, now that I know what it is I had to buy something). Trade show was ok...not as good as in past years but it was alright. We came home early though and it's a good thing. I was pooped. We had supper with Amber and Rory while we were in. It was nice to get some time to actually visit. Overall we had a pretty good weekend. We went in Thursday night and Friday had appointments (ultrasound) and then went and did some shopping. Then we went Saturday and bummed around some more. Saturday evening was the banquet thing for the show. They had a Vegas theme with tables set up and we were all given a voucher for chips. You played and when you had a full cup of chips you turned them in for tickets for a silent auction. It was ok. Mark played poker all night. Too bad he wasn't playing for cash. We would have left with a lot of money! Sunday was the show. We did our thing there then stopped at Costco, grabbed a few groceries and headed home. We stayed at Vicky's all weekend. The spare bed is not too comfy so it was nice to be home in our own bed. Still trying to decide if we want to go to the baby show on May 7th. I think Mark can probably endure 2 hours of stuff there. Then we have a doctor's appointment on the 8th so we'll be staying in. Hmmm what else. We didn't get any pictures from the ultrasound. They are sending us a CD with all of the pictures they took on it, not just one. It's pretty cool. I can't wait till we get it. Otherwise, Whitetail and Walleye this weekend. We were going to go, but we have bills that need to be paid first and I don't think we'll have much spending money left. Sucks that we can't go since it'll be the last time we'd probably go in the next few years. But hey that's life, at least we pay our own bills and buy our own groceries and take care of ourselves. It seems like too often you see kids who never leave home or whose parents buy everything for them, I'm glad that Mark and I are so strong willed! Dave offered to pay for our Whitetail and Walleye but we can't let him do that. So mom asked if we'd sit with Nanny until she is done at Whitetail and we said we would. It will be nice to spend the time with her. Besides everyone already agreed that if they win any baby stuff we get it! Ok, well I should get off of here. I promised Mark I'd make him some muffins!
