It's finally here. I leave for BYU-I this Friday at 5 in the morning. Most all my possessions are in boxes, but now I have to take them out, rearrange them, and make them fit into smaller boxes so we can get them in the car. We're heading over the mountain pass so my dad's probably going to try to bring his entire emergency kit, the one that fills up half his car....but I'm not going to let him. My mom got me a new long coat that makes me look Russian-it keeps me so warm...I'll be good. She got me two pairs of boots too-a pair of moonboots so I can boot to the moon and a nicer pair to wear on Sundays and things. Man...I've been looking at the school's webcams every day and they just seem to get more snow...thats something I am definately not used to.
At the moment, I am in a house at the entrance of sky island, taking care of 5 dogs that don't like to be left alone, so I can earn extra book money. It is such an incredible relief to know that my scholarships and stafford loans came through, and all I have to worry about is money I'll need for myself.
I got my braces in on thursday. Eating has been painful, but its getting better. I discovered that since I've gone straight from wisdom teeth removal to expander to braces, I've lost 6 pounds because eating hurts too much. I'm pushing past that now-I don't really care how much it hurts anymore, I am not going to turn anorexic-I love food way too much. I tried the trombone for the first time again today-it didn't hurt, but man....it sucked! I'm glad I decided to hold off on auditioning for jazz band on trombone. I'm still really worried about bass-I'm so out of practice. I've been working on Opus de Funk, and I have the solo and the duet with the alto that does 16th notes all hecka fast-I've pretty much got that, but still...its been a long time. Oh-and I have sister sadie on upright, but I don't know....a different upright is so...different. I hope I can adjust. I just know that if I don't make it in now, I probably never will, and I'll have to leave my mediocre skills on these instruments and they will just decrease...Man, I wish I had taken private lessons this summer. It was so stupid of me not to. Oh well-what happens happens, and I'll figure out what to do no matter what.
Well, I need sleep so I can wake up early, drive home, and pack some more.
Thank you so much, everyone that could make it to my party! I had a good time, and I hope everyone else did. I was really glad to see you one last time. No, I'm not dying, I'm just on a different schedule than everyone else and it will only become more difficult.
Well, I have millions of things to do so I'm going to bed, but if you didn't get to see me give me a call-maybe we can work out a quick goodbye.
I love you all!
