4 more days until my birthday!
I'm getting an ipod for myself =)
Can anyone explain how to download songs onto my ipod without actually having to use itunes?
Thanks =)

okay I'll just tell ya here:

so I'm assuming you know how to copy cds... so I'm just gonna start after you already have the songs.

1. when you get the ipod, it'll come with an adapter and plug (that allows you to hook it up to the comp). So you'll have to attach the plug onto the ipod, and put the other end of the plug onto the adapter, which you plug into the comp.

2. Enter musicmatch (is that where you keep your music library?) and click "file" then "add new tracks to music library."

3. in that menu, select the songs you want to add and... click "add!" (what a shocker, eh?)

4. Once you've added the songs, you can right click on them and click "edit track tag" to change the name, genre, artist, album, etc.

5. Then after this, you're supposed to open the ipod manager and click "add" and select the tracks. But, for some reason, the ipod manager doesn't open on my computer. So instead, in musicmatch, I click "file" then "send to portable device." After this menu opens, click ipod (on the left) and you'll see all the songs you already have. Then you go through the same thing of clicking "add" and selecting the tracks. However, that doesn't work for me either. So if you can't click "add," just manually drag the songs (from your desktop or w/e) into the list of songs, and it'll add the new songs. then you just close musicmatch and take everything apart.

Hope that's clear/helps!
