just take the hand that's offered, and hold on tight

Fun things first! Pictures from my day at Wonderland:

Sarah, Kara, Lynn, me, and Erin in line for . . . WindSeeker, I think. And damn, we are a pale bunch of people, lol. :p

This picture is called "Lynn and her two spouses", haha. Lynn is actually engaged to Andrew; however she and I long ago decided that because she and Brad share the same birthday, that makes her my husband. So, naturally, she wanted a picture with her "wife" and her soon-to-be-husband. (Yes, Andrew and Brad are both aware of this arrangement. They have already accepted our craziness, which is really for the best.)

Kara and me on the swings, because I will never outgrow swings, no matter how old I get. They are awesome, and you will never convince me otherwise!

(Pictures shamelessly stolen from Lynn. It's okay, she's my spouse, she won't mind.)

In other news, today I got a call from the bank asking me if I was still a student, because they wanted to verify the status of the student account Brad and I have. It's our joint account, which we were able to open as a free student account because Brad was a student at the time we opened it. However, since he is no longer a student, he will obviously be unable to provide proof of enrollment within the next 30 days, so the account will then become a regular account, which they'll charge us $10.95 a month for. I have long been irritated by the $14.95 a month I pay for my individual account, and have wanted to find an alternative, but have also always been a bit too lazy to want to deal with the hassle of switching over my direct deposit and all my automatic bill withdrawals I've got set up. However, the thought of paying $26 a month just to have bank accounts makes me full of rage, so now seems like the time to go elsewhere. I keep seeing commercials and hearing things about ING Direct, so I spent some time browsing their website tonight, and I have to say, what they're offering seems pretty fantastic. Free checking accounts, unlimited transactions, email transfers, etc., and you can even earn interest on your money! I think I'm going to call them tomorrow just to confirm a few things and ask a few questions, but barring any crazy stories anyone's got about them, they're seeming like the way to go at this point. Any thoughts or feedback anyone has on ING is totally welcome, or if you have some other great banking alternative that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg just to do my regular banking, let's hear it!

In other other news, work continues to be crazy busy and I have been running around trying to do a million things all week. I don't expect that to stop any time soon either. However, this weekend is the first in over a month that I don't have anything planned, and I am certainly relishing that thought. I might actually *gasp* CLEAN THE HOUSE! I know, shocking. Uh, but now it is 9:51 and I need to go to bed at 10, so that will have to suffice for this entry. Today's blog-every-day-in-May prompt is A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all., and honestly the best advice I have for anyone reading this is to do what makes you happy. If something or someone is bringing you down or making you unhappy, get rid of it, change it, find something better. Life's too short to spend time being miserable if you can do something about it. And most of the time, you can do something about it. So there you go, that is my life advice for all of you, and now it is 9:53, so really, time to stop. G'night, friends!
