Day 21: a photo of somebody you find attractive.

Since I just posted pics of my most current people-I-find-attractive here, I figured I'd post an old school crush. Mmmmm Michael Vartan. I was a huuuuuge fan of Alias when it was on, and totally wanted to have his babies. I think he's beautiful. And even though I haven't really seen him in much since Alias finished, I still think he's gorgeous, so worth posting a picture of.

I think I've mentioned once or twice that I regularly read APW. Friday's Ask Team Practical post mentioned that Alyssa, who writes that column, has started her own blog, so I figured I'd check it out. And it's generally hilarious, so I think I'll start reading that, too. But I think everyone needs to read this bit from this entry:

I’ve had three people this week who, when they find out ‘ been married for over a year, ask me about kids. Which is fine, we’re in Texas and that’s just small talk, not impolite. But when say, “Not yet,” they reply with “Well, are you trying?”

What?

I mean, I realize that I implied that we want them with the “Not yet,” but did you seriously just ask me that?

Because you do know you just asked me if my husband and I were having sex and how we were doing it.

Maybe you meant that I might be taking birth control and then stopped. But that still means you are inquiring about the state of my vagina, and as progressive, free-wheelin’ and “Whatever’s whatever, baby…” I am, I still find that tacky.

Mind your business.

Seriously! It kind of boggles my mind that people would think it's okay to ask someone if they're TRYING to have kids? How is that any of your business at all?! I know cheekybaby's written about this subject much more eloquently than I could already, but yeah, there are just so many reasons why that's not only an impolite question, but could also be really hurtful or upsetting to people. Just . . . yeah. I don't mind so much the asking if you have kids, that seems like a normal enough question to ask, but unless you know me well, why would you think it's your place to delve further into it if I tell you no? Anyway, just my thoughts, something I thought was worth reposting. I recommend her blog; it's pretty amusing.

And now I'm off to go be productive around the house. Goals for today: laundry, dishes, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the bathrooms?, general tidying, organizing the papers in my 'something needs to be done with these' bin. Things I would also like to accomplish this weekend: finishing the book I'm currently reading, starting another, scanning some pictures in from photo albums, maaaaayybe even starting my immigration paperwork? Hope you all have a good weekend!
