Its vaguely funny, since 'stage' in French is the word for apprenticeship. I kill me ( Read more... )

The only bias the CIA has is towards the American government. Likewise with the FBI. I really can't think of a purpose for the existence of the CIA except that it sticks Americas nose into other country's businesses. I assume you know the history that it was founded after World War 2 to help keep an eye on and defeat the Soviet Union. After they fell the main purpose of the CIA has been to overturn governments that are unfriendly to us and to "root out" "terrorists" and kill them. Assuming you are not an anarchist, the main reason for not joining isn't ideological but exactly that it's full of meanies. Currently it sponsers the right-wing Columbian para-militaries that are killing thousands of farmers suspected of being involved with left wing organisations. The CIA worked with and trained Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada carriles, who bombed a Cuban passanger airliner killing 75, supplied weapons to the CIA-backed contras in Nicaragua, and are currently being harbored in Miami, protected from extradition. The CIA played a hand in the ( ... )

we can talk more about this later. The unfortunate truth, for the CIA at least, is that the student opportunities, though availible to everyone will more often then not take students who are the children of those who work at the CIA. It would be easier to get into another government agency for an intership.

My mom works for the CIA.

No, I'm not kidding.

She's a translator.

Although the paperwork's still going through-- and she started the application process years ago. She's in, though. It just takes them forever and a day to get their shit together...

1. Drug tests, you alcoholic hashie :P

2. W. would be your boss. Think about that for a second. Do you really trust the american people to elect the man responsible for deciding what you do with your day? If you do, you have a loooot more faith in us than I do.

3. I know in America, you can lose your citizenship if you work for a foreign military. You might want to check if Canada works the same way, 'cause if it does, this might cost you your shiny non-american passport.

4. See above about what it is the CIA actually does. If you're going to become a spy, please dear God, be a spy for Canada. Seriously.

5. Last I checked, MI5's as high as it goes before you get a double-oh-number and a sexy costar. And seeing as how you are slightly lacking in a Scottish accent, that might be a hard job to land.

Crappers, looks like I missed the deadline again. I swear they keep pushing that back. Anyway, I'm all for you joining the CIA internship. Though the CIA has had it's share of screw-ups (sometimes humourous though, exploding cigars, anyone?) and perhaps misguided missions, it is hard to judge the organization by such ( ... )

I believe Mark (everytime we go on a heist he has to start shouting my name...) is delving into a time honoured discussion between us on the value of life and the decisions that can come up in situations of doom and death. In fact, I find his little explanation here very clear, kickassy, and might quote this shit on a philosophy paper one day (as the learnéd Mr. Nettling once said ( ... )

Also, number 4 had a very clear disclaimer. You shouldn't have read it, hippy.
