First, funny quote here:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucac/20050923/cm_ucac/whatwouldreagando"But most important, if Bush had nominated Scalia, liberals would have responded with their usual understated screams of genocide, and Bush could have nominated absolutely anyone to fill Justice O'Connor's seat. He also could have cut taxes, invaded Syria, and bombed North Korea and Cuba just for laughs. He could even have done something totally nuts, like enforce the immigration laws."
Funny funny stuff. Actually, I really hope the dumbass Democratic party does not spend its precious, PRECIOUS, political capital on blocking Roberts. He's going through, no matter if its 55 45 or 95 5. If its the first, the Dems lose more power, and we do NOT need that. Plus, shit, I like Roberts. And therefore the Democrats should let him in.
But no one here wants to read about my ideas on the Democratic Party of the USA. They would like to hear about LA FRANCE (fire ze missiles, anybody?). Well, I am best pleased by it, all in all. No problems. Besides the distubingly large amounts of really good food (and more quantity of good wine than I have ever seen, ever. 6 glasses a day is average, for me, and I refuse most of what is offered me. Damn.), and my hands being covered with dry donkey shit from coating our moulds, as well as my arms hurting like mad from the forge and hammers and badness of hot iron, yay for France. And fuck it, yay for those last things too.
Okay, I am better. I will attempt to write in a more sane fashion, sorry. And since this is for me anyway, it is necessary to do so so I dont think I was a complete backbirth some years from now.
Basic Overview:
3 days of awesomeness in Paris (I believe I will love that city. I hate all cities, except Canadian ones... this may yet be the first non Canadian city I like)
3ish weeks of further awesomeness, chez les Guillets in Coueron, studying and doing randomness in Nantes. Making better friendships through dirty jokes with Arunima, Taylor, Ed, Sarah, Gav and Sevhilla.
3 days of awesomennnneesssss doing the tourist. Seeing Omaha beach, Bayeux (of the TAPESTRY), Mont St Michel, wine tasting, the region of Bordeaux. Awesomeness.
Currently in 15ish days of JUSTICE doing ironworking and bronzeworking, involving chopping wood (not much), cutting copper (sadly not much) and beating inoffensive iron with a hammer (sadly, not much. Though my arm will soon fall off). Also doing moulding for sculptures, and realising I suck, horridly, at art. Horridly.
After that 9 days of AC and general awesomeness in England, (possible fencing) with many many many friends and England AND FUCKING ENGLAND JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Okay, better.
After that 9 weeks of class in Paris, and weekends with Ella in Belgium, Switzerland, Holland and maybe Norway with Lina (why the fuck not, really) plus the Museum of the Middle Ages. Daaaamn. Hot.
Thats the basics. The details involve much French learning (though my spoken seems to have gotten worse, or something, my grammar still SUCKS, and my written feels like a retarded 7 year old. My reading and understanding spoken seems to be very good though), talking to this madman of an artisan, crazy anarchistish person, and working out alot of my political views (generally, I am an ass, it appears). Which I should write about, really, but thats what a journal is for.
Suffice it to say that on a clear day here, you can see the Pyrenées (I randomly went to Spain last week too. Random.). I love Europe so much.
Then again, I do occasionally miss the style of life at EC; groups of peers together, similar lives, talking and talking about things that are relevant to our age and times, and meeting new people. But thats occasionally, and I am certain I will have enough, and possibly more, of all that next semester. Anyone want to tell me whats going on in Polyglot and around, by the way? Nora keeps me updated, but drama occasionally rules her life, which is unfortunate. And often funnily ironic.
Katherine just patted me on the head. I havent a clue why.
