The exciting news is... We made our first sale of our book sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning! It was very exciting.
Other than that, our conversion rate sucks. It's a whopping .31% and that ONLY includes people who found us through one of the MSN ads. Doesn't include any other type of advertising we've done.
So we had our telephone conversation with Dan Lok- he's the guy who's product we bought that we're using to make this website and do this whole thing in the first place. As part of the deal--one of the bonuses for buying his program-- you get 3 telephone calls with him. So we sent him everything we had and got our first phone call. He gave us a ton of advice, so now it's back to the drawing board and we're going to rework some things, do a little tweaking here and there and then, hopefully, if all goes to plan, our conversion rate will sky rocket.
That includes changing the title. Seriously, it's true "Why You Are Fat" sucks as a title. So we're thinking of new titles Dan said if we email them to him, he'll look through them and tell us which ones he thinks are the best. So that's cool.
It was only supposed to be a half hour phone call with him, but he talked to us for nearly 2 hours!!! He said that ONLY 2 of the twenty people who bought his product at the seminar took him up on his phone calls... that number includes our phone call. He knew that too and that's why he offered it. It's a marketing technique. Most people DON'T take action and don't do anything when they buy products like these. But we did and he LOVED us for it. I think that's why he's giving us so much help, cause most people will buy the product and then never do anything with it.
He said we're close... so we'll just keep on trucking and see how it goes. I feel good about it though. I think we'll do well.
Book News
I'm still eagerly waiting for my paperback book "People of the First Light" to come... my mom sent it to me a while ago and the post office said 5-7 days, so it's been LONGER than that... and it's still not here. But I really want it to come... I want to see how it looks in paperback...
Plus I need to make a few corrections to the text... so... you know... I want it NOW damn it. Ha... today, I hope... the mail still hasn't come yet, so we'll see.
I kind of feel there's a slight pause in ebusiness right now so I'll be able to work on "People of the First Light."
I've decided on a cover. It's NONE of the ones that I posted before.... thanks to those who gave me feedback... it was really helpful. But it's a surprise. So I'm not going to post it here... you'll have to wait till the new version comes to print. Ha...
I'm also thinking about making it a 6x9 instead of a 5x8 like it is now, but I want to see how the 5x8 looks first. I'll be able to fit more words on a page, so it'll be less pages, which will make the selling price cheaper. I'm not sure by how much though. It might not be too significant, but I'll see how it looks. I want to add some pictures to the inside too... but I don't want to add extra pages which will raise the price. It's already expensive as it is, and I want to try to keep it competitive... so if I can keep the price low... well.. fuck yeah... I'm gonna do it.
Update: Mail just arrived... no books... only a bill I owe to Health Canada for insurance... which I can't pay... so I'm going to ignore it. That's a good plan.
Grrr... I really wanted my book to come... why isn't it here????
