Let's talk new television obsessions

• Sherlock (yes the new BBC adaptation everyone is raving about): I just LOVE the characterisations of Sherlock and Watson in this one. Sherlock is so unintentionally hilarious, it's brilliant. And while it's a modern day version of the famous detective stories I find it pretty accurate with what I know of it as well. Even thought we haven't seen ( Read more... )

1. You definitely got me interested in Sherlock! I seen some picspams and they look gorgeous :)

2. I love this photoshoot - it is awesome seeing them all glam up! Have you seen the one where they portray tv/movie events from the past (Twilight, Susan B, etc)?

1. YAAAAYYYY!! Mission accomplished :P Let me know when you've seen an episode so we can flail together (I know you're gonna love it!).

2. I have not! If you remember where you've seen then, could you link me please? Sounds awesome!

WOW! I really had to squint to read the text but I can not believe that that is Jim as Edward! He's seriously unrecognisable!! The pictures are HILARIOUS though, haha! Especially love Johnny as Susan XD I love that the cast has this crazy random shoots. Oh and have you seen the trailer for the new season in CSI style yet?

(I just selected my 10th Doctor + Kitten icon and now I have Soft Kitty stuck in my head, lmao!)

Howard's face kills me. I think it is funny how they shot this because if you don't watch the show, you will think the romantic couple is Sheldon/Penny.

I missed the trailer - link please :)

Soft kitty - lets sing it as a round! There is this street that is extremely bumpy - I renamed it as Euclid Avenue ;)

Yeah, but then Jim doesn't look like Sheldon in that first picture at all. I still can not believe that's him!

Oh no, if we're gonna sing I'm never gonna get the song out of my head! I already spent nearly a week with it stuck in my head when I was marathoning the show, I thought to be finally rid of it :P

Wow, I am completely made of fail I just realised that new CSI promo was for HIMYM not TBBT, sorry >.< The new TBBT ones are really funny too (compilation of knock, knock, knock. And one for Bazinga and one where they used one word from a sentence a character spoke and mashed a whole bunch together to make the one fluent ad; really cleverly done).

If you'd still like the HIMYM one (I think you may have seen the TBT ones in the LJ community? Of not let me know and I'll look the post up for you):

The song is addictive! Even their theme song, I still sing along...

Thanks for the HIMYM promo, I haven't seen it. To be honest, I was really disappointed with HIMYM last year and I'm really close to giving it up.

I don't mind having the theme song stuck in my head, I love that one much more <3

Yeah I've heard many people say this. I only started watching HIMYM last year (having marathoned the previous seasons in pretty much the same style as TBBT this year) and really loved it. Then when I watched it on a weekly basis I still liked it but not as much and I thought that was because I had to wait between episodes, but maybe not? I'll still watch it though, I'm not bored of it yet :) I just hope that watching TBBT on a weekly basis won't be equally disappointing in the end...

I really do believe HIMYM had a serious drop in quality. A friend of mine marathons that show and when she was doing it for last season she was close to giving up many times.

I have a ridiculous number of tv shows I adore to watch so if one really isn't up to par I'm tempted to just drop it...

I found the second season of BBT the strongest but I still managed to laugh for the third :)

Fair enough. I actually already dropped many shows last year so I don't have to drop anything else just to save time I think :) Plus I really like that the episodes are short so that I can easily watch them whenever I have a spare moment (thought I suppose TBBT will take that place now).

You know, having watched all the episodes in a row I haven't got a clue where one season starts and another one ends. Or even when any events happened really (other than storylines that continue on throughout the series such as Leonard/Penny). Maybe I need to watch all episodes again? :D

I picked up shows - lol.

You are right, that is one of the reasons I adore half-hours comedies, especially if they are done right :)

A review is always fun ;)

I picked up a few shows as well, but they were all Summer ones so once September comes around I don't need to worry about them anymore :D (though possibly White Collar, not sure when the current season ends for that one).

And technically the half hour comedies are only 20 minutes (without the commercials) and usually you need to think less as well while watching, so I like them as filler :D

By the way, I'm jealous of all the wonderful museums you can visit tomorrow :) I think we spoke of the Percy series (I still haven't read them!), if so, the British Museum houses the Elgin Marbles.

Thanks for another vote for the British Museum! I did indeed read the Percy series and now very tempted to go there just because of that (have only been there once about 3 years ago and don't recall having seen them then). But someone also mentioned on Twitter to me looking into current exhibitions, which I'm doing right now. If there's nothing of particular interest on the British Museum it is!

Yeah, I'm quite excited to head out tomorrow! It's a good excuse to go into London again, have been too stuck in Lewisham lately >.<
