In honour of the start of the Tenth Doctor's final two-parter next week - The End of Time - I wanted to make a picspam of his most memorable scenes/episodes. It took a lot longer to make than I expected (though obviously it was no punishment having to rewatch all these episodes again to get the quotes to match the pictures), but I am fairly certain I managed to include all the moments that impressed me the most while watching them the first time around. The ones that made me laugh the hardest, cry the most and broke my heart. Ten is my Doctor and I will really miss him :(
{ 10 :: Blink }
The Doctor: "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff."
The Doctor: "Your life could depend on this. Don't blink! Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink! Good Luck."
{ 9 :: The Runaway Bride }
The Doctor: "Empress of the Racnoss I give you one last chance. I can find you a planet. I can find you and your children a place in the universe to co-exist. Take that offer and end this now."
Racnoss Empress: "These men are so funny."
The Doctor: "What's your answer?"
Racnoss Empress: "I am afraid I have to decline, hahaha."
The Doctor: "Then what happens next is your own doing."
The Doctor: "My home planet is far away and long since gone. But its name lives on: Gallifrey."
Racnoss Empress: "They murdered the Racnoss!"
The Doctor: "I warned you, you did this."
Donna: "Doctor! You can stop now!"
Donna: "Am I ever gonna see you again?"
The Doctor: "If I am lucky."
Donna: "Just promise me one thing, find someone."
The Doctor: "I don't need anyone."
Donna: "Yes, you do. Cause sometimes I think you need someone to stop you."
The Doctor: "Yeah... Thanks then. Donna, good luck. And just be magnificent."
Donna: "I think I will, yeah. Doctor?"
The Doctor: "Oh, what is it now?"
Donna: "That friend of yours, what was her name?"
The Doctor: "Her name was Rose."
{ 8 :: The Parting of the Ways / Children in Need 2005 }
The Doctor: "Hello. Okay....new teeth. That's weird. So where was I? Oh, that's right. Barcelona."
The Doctor: "Now then... what do I look like? No, no, no, no, no, no no, don't tell me. Let's see: two legs, two arms, two hands. Slight weakness in the dorsal tubercle. Hair! I am not bald! Oh, big hair! Sideburns. I've got sideburns! Or really bad skin. Little bit thinner, that's weird. Give me time, I'll get used to it. I have got a mole. I can feel it. Between my shoulder blades there's a mole. That's alright, love the mole. Go on then, tell me. What d'you think?"
Rose: "Who are you?"
The Doctor: "I am the Doctor."
{ 7 :: Partners in Crime }
The Doctor: "Donna?"
Donna: "Doctor!!"
The Doctor: "What? What?"
Donna: "OH MY GOD!"
The Doctor: "How?"
Donna: "It's me!"
The Doctor: "I can see that."
Donna: "This is brilliant!"
The Doctor: "What are you doing there?"
Donna: "I was looking for you!"
The Doctor: "Me? What for?"
Donna: "Reading, Internet..."
Miss Foster: "We're interrupting you?"
{ 6 :: The Christmas Invasion }
The Doctor: "First things first, how do I look?"
Rose: "Uhm different."
The Doctor: "Good different or bad different?"
Rose: "Just different"
The Doctor: "Am I... ginger?"
Rose: "No, you're just sort of brown."
The Doctor: "Aww, I wanted to be ginger. I've never been ginger. And you, Rose Tyler, fat lot of good you were. You gave up on me. Ooh, that was rude. Is that the sort of man I am now? Am I rude? Rude and not ginger?"
Sycorax leader: "Who exactly are you?"
The Doctor: "Well that's the question."
Sycorax leader: "I demand to know who you are!"
The Doctor: "I DON'T KNOOOOOW! See I am the Doctor, but beyond that I just don't know. I literally do not know who I am, it's all untested. Am I funny? Am I sarcastic? Sexy? Right old misery? Life and soul? Right-handed? Left-handed? A gambler? A fighter? A coward? A traitor? A liar? A nervous wreck? I mean, judging by the evidence I've certainly got a gob!"
The Doctor: "You cut my hand off! And now I know what sort of man I am. I am lucky. Because quite by chance I am still within the first 15 hours of my regeneration cycle, which means I have got just enough residual cellular energy to do this."
The Doctor: "No second chances. I'm that sort of a man."
{ 5 :: Journey's End }
Donna: "I was gonna be with you. Forever."
The Doctor: "I know."
Donna: "Rest of my life. Travelling. In the Tardis. The Doctor Donna. I can't go back, don't make me go back. Doctor, please. Please don't make me go back."
The Doctor: "Donna, oh Donna Noble. I am so sorry. But we had the best of times."
Donna: "The best."
The Doctor: "Goodbye."
Wilfred: "Doctor, what about you now? Who do you've got? I mean all those friends of yours-"
The Doctor: "-they've all got someone else. Still, that's fine. I'm fine."
Wilfred: "I'll watch out for you, Sir."
The Doctor: "You can't ever tell her!"
Wilfred: "No, no, no. But every night, Doctor, when it gets dark and the stars come out I'll look up on her behalf. I'll look up at the sky and think of you."
The Doctor: "Thank you."
{ 4 :: Doomsday }
The Doctor: "You're dead, officially, back home. So many people died that day and you've gone missing. You're on the list of the dead. And here you are, living a life day after day. The one adventure I can never have."
Rose: "Am I ever gonna see you again?
The Doctor: "You can't."
Rose: "What are you gonna do?"
The Doctor: "Ah, I've got the Tardis. Same old life, last of the Time Lords."
Rose: "On your own? I... I love you."
The Doctor: "And quite right too. And I suppose, if it's my last change to say it: Rose Tyler-"
{ 3 :: Midnight }
The Doctor & Sky: "Listen to me, whatever you want, if it's life or form or consciousness or voice, you don't have to steal it. You can find it without hurting anyone and I'll help you, that's a promise. So, what do you think?"
Sky: "Do we have a deal?"
The Doctor: "Do we have a deal?"
Sky [the Doctor copies]: "Look at me. I can move. I can feel again. I'm coming back to life. And look at him, he can't move. Help me, professor, get me away from him. Please. [...] It's inside his head. It killed the driver, and the mechanic, and now it wants us. He's waited so long. In the dark and the cold and the diamonds. Until you came, bodies so hot with blood and pain. [...] That's how he does it, he makes you fight. Creeps into your head and whispers, listen, just listen. That's him, inside. Yes, throw him out. Get rid of him. Now. Cast him out, into the sun and the night. Do it, do it now. Faster! That's the way, you can do it! Molto bene. Allons-y!"
The Doctor: "It's gone, it's gone. It's gone, it's gone, it's gone. It's gone, it's gone, it's gone..."
{ 2 :: The Family of Blood }
John Smith: "I'm not... I'm John Smith, that's all I want to be, John Smith. With his life... and his job... and his love. Why can't I be John Smith? Isn't he a good man? Why can't I stay?"
Martha: "But we need the Doctor."
John Smith: "Who am I then? Nothing...? I'm just a story?"
John Smith: "You're the Doctor's companion, can't you help? What exactly do you do for him? Why does he need you?"
Martha: "Because he's lonely."
John Smith: "And that's what you want me to become?"
John Smith: "You knew this all along yet you watched while Miss Redfern and I-"
Martha: "I didn't know how to stop you. He gave me a list of things to watch out for but that wasn't included."
John Smith: "Falling in love, that didn't even occur to him? Then what sort of men is that? And now you expect me to die."
John Smith: "He won't love you."
Joan: "If he's not you than I won't want him to. I had a husband and he died. I never thought, ever again..."
John Smith: "And it was real. I really thought..."
John Smith: "Did you see?"
Joan: "The Time Lord has such adventures, but he could never have a life like that."
John Smith: "And yet I could."
{ 1 :: Last of the Time Lords }
The Doctor: "I've got you, I've got you."
The Master: "Always the women..."
The Doctor: "I didn't see that."
The Master: "Dying in your arms, happy now?"
The Doctor: "You're not dying, don't be stupid. It's only a bullet, just regenerate."
The Master: "No."
The Doctor: "One little bullet, come on!"
The Master: "I guess you don't really know me so well, I refuse."
The Doctor: "Regenerate. Just regenerate! Please, please! Just regenerate, come on!"
The Master: "And spend the rest of my life imprisoned with you?"
The Doctor: "But you've got to, come on! It can't end like this. You and me, all the things we've done. Axons, remember the axons? And the Daleks. We're the only two left. There is no one else... REGENERATE!"
The Master: "How about that? I win... Will it stop Doctor? The drumming, will it stop?"
{ BONUS }
In the Christmas Invasion we can for the first time hear the wonderful "Song for Ten" as performed by Tim Phillips (during the scene where Ten picks his wardrobe, defining his appearance for the rest of the series). The track was later expanded and included on the soundtrack, though this time performed by Neil Hannon. I've uploaded both versions (the Phillips one is longer than what was played in the episode) as this tribute to the Tenth Doctor wouldn't be complete without inclusion of his song:
•
Tim Phillips version (my personal favourite)
•
Neil Hannon version Please don't hotlink, reuse, etc. as this picspam took me a lot of time to make. Comments on the other hand would make me very happy ♥
