Tune : Snow Patrol - "Take Back the City"
March 25: Got on a plane to Darwin and several hours later arrived and got picked up by
skypiratekella, wooh! Didn't do a whole lot that day (I had internet again! I was abusing that opportunity :$) but went to church with Kel in the evening and met some of her friends.
March 26: Kel still had to work so I tagged along and distracted her until it was late enough for stuff to open up in the city. First thing I did was go to the visitors centre to enquire about tours before heading to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. The museum was great, joined a tour first where we got a lot of information on Cyclone Tracy (a cyclone that destroyed most of Darwin in the 70ties, it was absolutely horrible) before wandering through the other exhibitions.
Met up with Kel again for lunch and after that I booked my tours (Kakadu National Park for March 27 and Litchfield National Park for March 30). Later in the afternoon I went to the parliament building and did a self-guided tour there. After I finished that it was time to head back again.

March 28:: In the morning we went to the Parap Markets and I had samosas for breakfast, nom nom nom Tried a bright green rice cake thingy as well which after a few bites tasted quite nice. Also picked up a copy of Sci-Fi Now with Zach on the cover just in case I need it later this week ;)
The afternoon was spent relaxing where I caught up with Adeline online (yay!) and we watched Rent on DVD which I hadn't seen since its release in cinemas so that was awesome. Later in the afternoon we went to church again and prepared for a water balloon fight that evening. We spent nearly 2.5 hours filling and tying water balloons, our fingers were so sore! The fight itself was really cool (I was soaked within 5 minutes though, why did I not wear shorts? >.<) except for the part where the other team started filling their balloons with ketchup and oyster sauce, yuck!.
March 29: Darwin got new waterslides and for the official opening there were aboriginal dancers. They were better than what I'd seen Kuranda. The rest of the day was mostly spent lazing around and watching Farscape.
Turtle!
March 31: We went to Berry Springs, but alas, the water was closed off still which meant no swimming and heading off pretty much straight away again. We went to another place, hoping that that'd be open but unfortunately it was the same story. We did see turtles in the water and giant fish and when we went inside a little visitor's centre to read the displays we saw a snake in the wild! ahas;dagsdlgsadljgas;dggdjl
In the evening we went to Stokes Hill Wharf (yes the one from the movie Australia!) for dinner and saw the sun set over the water.
Another turtle!
Snake!
April 1: Was the day we'd leave Darwin for our trip to the "Red Centre" of Australia. Said goodbye to Kel's mum and her adorable kitten :( The train journey to Alice Springs was... ok. I thought it'd be super awesome and stunning but while the first part of the journey was pretty cool (I saw more termite mounds!) the rest wasn't that interesting. We had a stopover in Katherine (known for the Katherine Gorge) which was a boring little town and we didn't really know what to do with our time there :\ The rest of the trip we slept for the most part, lol
