Fake News FPF
Fake News is kind of a complicated fandom. The FPF (Fictional Person Fic) and the RPF (Real Person Fic) intertwine regularly, since while Stephen Colbert is definitely playing a character on The Colbert Report, the amount of fictionalization Jon Stewart is presenting on The Daily Show varies; also, both shows have interview segments with regular people, but have supporting casts that play fictional characters. At what point does a Fake News fic become an FPF/RPF crossover? Sometimes the line is blurry.
The following recs derive strongly from the FPF side of things. Those familiar with The Colbert Report will know that "Stephen"'s backstory includes a hypothetical gay porn career under the pseudonym Tyrone Hunnibi. Also, Jon 'Big Stew' Stewart may or may not be "Stephen"'s pimp. Some artists have run with this, sometimes even combining the two, as shown by the following.
COMIC Big Stew to the Rescue, part one and part two by sailorptah (deviantart), teen
These panels are intended to be read right to left. This comic shows Big Stew saving "Stephen" from a dub-con situation with his client (Conan O'Brien. Think Late Night Feud era). It draws on the power dynamics between prostitutes and pimps, as well as that of hero/damsel.

First of all, I love the bright colours in this. A great detail in this picture is the inclusion of "Stephen" gazing up at the painting of Big Stew, the man who takes care of him but also controls him; make sure you read omelton's description to get a good sense of the mood.
FIC Gay for Pay by doctorv (livejournal), mature
This fic features angst of the denial variety; heed the title. People will like this if they look for the dark side of "Stephen"/Tyrone's time in the sex industry, or getting into the mindset of such a closeted/deeply in denial person as "Stephen" has proved himself in canon.

The mix contains a variety of music that form a semi-narrative, and there's cover art.
Firely
To be completely upfront, I am almost positive that I read this fic before having ever seen a single episode of Firefly. Don't worry, I've watched the show since then. That's how I know that the series works just fine for prostitution/sex work, dealing with it directly both with Companions like Inara and the uncertified brothel in, uh, that one episode (hey, I didn't say I watched it a lot). Point being, if this is your kink, you don't have far to look for inspiration in Firefly canon.

After my schpiel up there, you probably weren't expecting a Simon/Jayne rec. Well, that's what you get. The relevant part of this story is short but, in my opinion, scorching hot. Not wanting to be caught by local law enforcement on the planet du jour, Simon and Jayne hide in plain sight by pretending to be a prostitute and his client transacting business up against a wall . . . and things get realistic.
Star Trek Reboot
To be honest, the Star Trek franchise never lent itself to this kink in my eyes, so I never read any relevant fics until the release of the 2009 film. It still doesn't scream prostitution/sex work to me - I like my Trek closer to canon than this kink would often allow - but sometimes it really works!
FIC The Return of Ricky Rocket by

Do note that Chekov is seventeen, and an ensign under Kirk's command.
FIC Ricky Rocket 2: The Prison Guard's Revenge by

Stargate Atlantis
While this canon doesn't fit prostitution/sex work much better than Star Trek, I am personally more comfortable and interested in reading AUs for it. And Stargate Atlantis fandom loves it some AUs. Also, since this show is set in the current time, a lot of concepts seem to be more realistic in Stargate Atlantis fic - to my eye, anyway. The result is that I've read more relevant fic in this fandom, and seen more in general.

This community was active for a fairly brief amount of time a few years ago, but produced a fair amount of fic and art. Some has been lost since then, but the majority is still there for people to enjoy. The community was a collaborative AU about a porn studio (staffed by Stargate Atlantis characters) geared towards making gay porn for a women audience. Many of the works posted to the comm are relevant to this rec list, and those that don't quite fit are still part of the overall AU, so I'm just going to rec the whole comm.
FIC Tales of a Sordid Past by clockstopper (livejournal), mature
This fic is similar in concept to the previously-recced Stargate Atlantis fic, only with Rodney having the interesting past. Rodney did porn when he was younger, and it turns John on. This fic also features sexual harassment of Rodney by other members of the exhibition based on the same information (it turns everyone on, apparently). And it needs a once over for typos.
Watchmen
While hardly a focus of the comic/movie, prostitution and sex work fit into this universe well. They match the gritty atmosphere that Moore created, and occur in the background of the story.
COSPLAY Watchmen Cosplay by mostflogged (deviantart), teen
Twilight Lady is a character that we don't get a whole lot of information on, since she was active during the pre-Keene Act years and thus set in the comic's past. We do know that she was a vice queen, ran a brothel, and appeared in at least one pornographic film. Sounds like she was an intimate of the sex industry, to me. mostflogged did this fantastic Twilight Lady cosplay, including pictures of her as Twilight Lady dominating a Silk Spectre. Do note that one of the pictures with Silk Spectre has a "It's not rape if . . ." comment in the description.
