Baby and Emma News

Other than the daily pregnancy uncomfortableness, it was a very good day today. Yes, I'm going to bore you with another description of my day...but I'm happy about it, okay?

My bloating was finally gone by this morning, but last night was painful. I ended spending a hour or so looking at new LJ icons. I got this new one and a few more to match my various moods. Our Canadian hockey women won the gold yesterday. Woohoo! Our men won their game today. They finally got their act together. If it keeps up maybe they'll get us gold again!

McDonalds: My mom's husband drove us to the Dr today and we got there early enough to take Emma to McDonalds for lunch. She loves the grilled cheese and right now they have toys she likes. Dragon Booster for "boys" and Strawberry Shortcake for "girls." The girls toys always suck, so we always ask for the boys toys. Dragon Booster is one of Emma's favourite shows, so she got a dragon.

Doctor's apointment: I got the Dr to show me the report from the ultrasound and he was much more cooperative this time. There was a little something in one of the ventricles of the heart, but the radiologist, who writes the report after reviewing the ultrasound technician's notes and the ultrasound, said that it didn't warrant a fetal echocardiogram. Yay! I do have to go for another ultrasound in a month or so to get another look at it, but that's okay, I don't mind seeing Baby again and double checking that he is a he. I told the Dr about the pain I've been having in my ass and upper part of my leg and he wrote me a referral for massage therapy. Yay again! I'm pretty sure that James' insurance covers it, but I'm making him double check because I can't afford to do it if it isn't at least partially covered.

After: A group of farmers organized a convoy to drive through Ottawa today. When we left the Dr. they were leaving the city and driving right down the road that we were on. So, Emma stood on the side of the road waving to all of the tractors as they went by. Most of the farmers had little kids in the tractors with them. They are waved at Emma and honked their horns for her. She was so happy and they looked pretty happy to have a cute little girl jumping up and down waving at them. After the ALL passed (about 40 of them), Emma conned us into taking her to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. She ordered her usual - chocolate chip cookie dough and I got mint chocolate chip. She ate a couple bites of hers, "tried" mine, ate most of mine and then finished hers. The guy working behind the counter thought it was hilarious. She went home with my mom's husband to wait for my mom to get off work and I haven't seen her since, so I have time to sit here writing this, drink a cup of tea and relax a bit. I leave for aquafit at 6:30 so the break is nice.

Tomorrow: The woman from the rehab centre is coming over to check in. She wants to help me get my incoming mail / bills organized. I have this counter in my kitchen where the phone is that is piled up with mail and crap that shouldn't be there. The drawer underneath is full to the top of stuff. She actually wants to sit down and go through it all with me. I know that it needs to be done. I used to be a very organized person, but now I have trouble with that. My goal is to get as organized as possible before Baby comes in July.

Sitting here in front of my living room window can be quite entertaining at times. Its snowing..again. The guy who walks by here this time every day just spent about 15 minutes yelling at someone/something (?) towards my garage. I'm sure that he has some form of mental illness because this has happened before. Generally he just talks to himself, sometimes yelling, when he walks by. But...once is awhile he focusses on something, like my garage or my tree and starts yelling at it. Oh, and the lady who walks her chow chows ten times a day just let one of them shit on the neighbors lawn and didn't bother picking it up...again. If she does it on my lawn I go out with a grocery bag and ask her to clean it up. She does, and now she lets them shit on the other side of the street. If you have a dog - or in her case, 4 dogs, clean up after them! I think she breeds them. Then there's the very chubby 11 or 12 year old who has temper tantrums outside of her parents house. She's yelling at the door and kicking the step now. I feel bad for her, she can't even run around with her friends without getting winded.

Okay...stop yawning. You had fair warning at the beginning of the this. Considering how I've been feeling lately, I think I should celebrate good days.
