Right! So... update. Yeeees.
Last week was very up and down for me. Lots of bad things and some very good things.
Bad things:
- I had a big panic attack last Tuesday. It was my first one in a long time. It was about money. I've still been unlucky in job hunting and I'm worried about saving money for things like Christmas. Nick keeps saying not to worry, to do my best, but I can't not worry. Once I get another job, and I'm not broke at the end of every fortnight, I'll feel better.
- I've had rather a lot of anxiety this past week. It's affected my sleep, and as such, I've been feeling tired more often. The anxiety has been coupled with general feelings of uselessness that often follow long periods of joblessness. As usual, my self-esteem's been crap as well - not helped by the fact that I think I'm gaining weight. I need to take better care of myself.
Good Things:
- My cichlids arrived last week! I have three Melanochromis Mainganos (hereafter known as "blue cichlids.") I've named them Eccleston, Idris and Yates.
Eccleston likes the TARDIS,
Idris has made a home under the red rock and
Yates likes the Texas holy rock and the right half of the tank in general. They're shy, and do hide often, but if you watch for a minute or two you'll see them poke their heads out and dart about, so that's quite fun. Nick likes them and I'm thrilled with them. :)
- One of the fish pet stores, The Fish Bowl and Ponds, told me on facebook that they'll exchange my baby snails for store credit once they're 2.5 cm long. They have the yellow cichlids I want, so I think I'll be able to exchange snails for fish, which is awesome.
- Nick's birthday was awesome. We had a really, really fun time hanging out with friends. Nick got some money, which we'll use to go away in December, a wok, a laser screwdriver and a whole lot of alcohol including Crystal Head Vodka, which comes in a beautiful glass skull.
- Gwen is helping me to get a job at the Wollworths she works at. I'll let this journal know if I get the job.
Good thing I have a lot of fandom stuff to look forward to, including movies/TV for the end of the year and next year, as well as Supernova.
