"And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree..."

Tomorrow is the last day of my teaching prac! XD It's only a half day. I have two lessons in the morning. My year 8 SOSE class is going to do a fun Quizdom quiz about Ancient Greece and start to watch the 1961 film The 300 Spartans, which was apparently bigger than Ben Hur before Ben Hur came out. My year 9 SOSE class, with whom I've made paper models of castles, are going to watch Robin Hood: Men in Tights. (By popular demand.) Looks like an easy and fun day.

Over all, this has been a good prac. I've learned a lot of ICT stuff, including making fancy PowerPoints, using an Interactive White Board and making and using Quizdoms. I've been challenged by having a fair bunch of ESL students, but some of them have really done me proud. One of my students told me that she hoped I passed my teaching course at Uni, which is sweet. I still have a lot of room to grow with my teaching, but that's only to be expected when I'm just starting out.

So yes... it's been a positive experience over all. It's been tiring, sometimes stressful, but rewarding too.

Holy Cow, I'm ready for a break though.

I have a bunch of Uni assignments still to do. I've not looked at them yet, and probably won't until after this weekend.

Other News:
I'm going to look at my Studio 2000 photos very soon. I don't know if I'll buy any, unless it's one cheep tiny one.

I bought myself the Hellsing Vol. 9 Manga. It's longer than the others and full of awesome with an epic battle that, if it makes it to the OVA, will be too sweet for words. I can't wait for the next OVA to come out on DVD in Australia.

I've been kicking around the idea of making a Wolf's Rain drinking game. Nick, Zach, Lochy and I have come up with a few rules after watching the DVDs over the weekend.

Drink every time...

- Quint (the alcoholic wolf hunter) takes a drink. Double it for the scenes he drinks with Cher or Hub.

- Someone says that wolves existing or disguising themselves as humans is "impossible" or "can't be true."

- Kiba doesn't answer a question, or just stares.

- Tsume leans against a wall / doorframe / whatever.

- Someone says "Cheza!" as a single sentence.

- Cheza gets captured or rescued.

- One of the wolves gets shot or otherwise bloodied.

- The wolves bounce / leap around impossibly.

Here is the Ancient Greece quiz I gave to my year 8's. Comment and try to answer the questions! I'll give you a mark out of 20 and will post the answers in my next lj entry. No cheating! Good luck!
