Because every now and then I feel like doing the impossible...
(I feel like there was a book or something I read once that said something about doing five impossible things before breakfast every day. Hm.)
As of last Wednesday, Lent started, and as I think most all of you are aware, I'm Catholic. And since I've really kinda skived off of Lent the past few years, I thought I'd really actually DO something this year, so I decided to (with a couple practical exemptions delineated below) give up the internet for Lent.
1) I'm posting here because I do need to inform you guys, and I originally planned to post on Sunday, but I was travelling all day Sunday, pretty much. I informed Tumblr and Facebook on Ash Wednesday.
2) Practical limitations on my 'give up the internet': schoolwork, obviously, but I'll try to use the computer lab computers for that. Facebook messaging/groups - kinda necessary to function nowadays, unfortunately. Skype: because there are people who would probably kill me if I didn't go on Skype for 40 days. *g* Oh yes, and my email is still available. Also for contact & school reasons.
3) I fully intend to come back after Lent, so yes. But if you want my Skype, for whatever reason, its either on my LJ profile, or you can message me and I'll respond (LJ message counts as an email).
Shall be terribly sad, no LJ for 40 days (not that I've been on much anyway)... but to make it up to people (... maybe ....), I present:
