CHapter # 11 of Hybrid
I looked up at Tonya, I could hardly see her face, but her mouth was open baring her teeth, immediately I though of Edward. What was going to happen next? Would I ever see him again? Suddenly from one of the sides, one of the dark figures grabbed Tonya’s arm. I was moved away from the person, and one of my arms was released from her grasp, I heard a man scream; but I could see what happened.
There was know another scream; this time from Tonya, she fell to the ground letting go of my other arm. The rain stopped, I could hear clearly know, I heard some whispers. I knelt down to Tonya. I couldn’t say anything, the fear clogged my throat. Tonya breathed deeply, and stood up again, grabbing my arms once more. I looked ahead at the two dark figures. Suddenly there was a dim light coming from behind us. I turned my head, on of the people lit a lantern; I could see some of its white face under its hood.
I looked in front again, the two people before us had their hoods down. I immediately knew who they where, there was a small woman; which I remember was Jane. And the other was male which I remembered was Demetri.
Jane looked at me and smiled. “Hello Bella” she smiled darkly “Shall we get going?” Demetri sighed “No! Bella leaves…unharmed. It was a part of the deal” Tonya spoke out with authority, it somehow gave me chills. I was apart of a deal? “Well, we did leave her alone. But the agreement didn’t say anything about her coming to us” Demetri smiled “Bella stays, I go. THAT was the deal!” She yelled.
I realized that the Volturi was threatening me! Not Scott! I remembered when Tonya argued with Edward about changing me the day she got the first letter. “Well this wouldn’t have happened; you gave away every thing you practically ‘told’ her, and ‘that’ was a part of the agreement as well” Jane hissed “I didn’t tell her, she guessed” Tonya said. “In any case, we must get going. Or we’ll be late” said Demetri “This isn’t over yet, we don’t leave until Bella can go!” Tonya growled “It’s too late, she did come herself, and therefore she comes too”
“No!” Tonya yelled, she let go of one of my arms she worked her way toward Jane and Demetri; dragging me along. Some of the others tried to restrain her, but they were thrown away. Tonya collapsed to the ground again in pain. Jane smiled as I realized Jane was doing this. I tried to help her up, but she didn’t need my help. Her face showed a sign of defeat.
We walked away with the two members of the Volturi “I’m sorry Bella” Tonya whispered to me “D-don’t be” I replied, amazed that I found my voice. Another man grabbed Tonya’s arm. In a flash the man was on the ground; he didn’t move. “Keep your rats away from me!” she said to Demetri, who walked almost in front of us. He didn’t answer “Aro and Markus will be so pleased to see you again!” Jane chuckled “Speak to me again and I’ll kill you” Tonya warned, Jane took her warning and she didn’t say another word.
We eventually reached an opening; there was a simple road, the cement still wet from the rain. On the road a couple cars were parked. One was a small black car the other was a larger van type vehicle. Tonya and I where led into the back seat of the smaller car. We were drove to the airport. We walked into the building and straight into the plane.
Tonya and I sat in a row of three, but Tonya threatened the Volturi members and the guards that she'd kill them again if they sat with us. I had a feeling she was going to say that a lot.
She put her elbow on the arm rest and held her head in her hand. She rubbed her temples with her thumb and middle finger. “I’m sorry, so sorry Bella, this wasn’t supposed to happen” she said “Don’t say that” I said, she nodded slightly
“Will we get back to Forks?” I asked
“Bella, I promise you, I will get you back” Tonya said quietly, still rubbing the sides of her forehead. “What a-about you?” I asked “I can’t promise that I will come with you…I’ll try” she said dryly “You have to come back!” I argued, I felt tears coming “I belong to the Volturi, and it’s unlikely that they’ll let me go” she said expressionless. “But-” I began “When we reach Volterra, I’m going to be…not myself. I will kill people. Just promise to forgive me” she whispered “Why should I have to forgive you? I don’t care if you kill them” I said “I will scare you…I’m a monster Bella. Just forgive me for my actions” she said quietly, I didn’t quit know how to answer to that.
I fell asleep shortly afterwards. Tonya woke me up when we arrived. When I woke up I was in a car. She must have carried me to the car after the flight. We were in Volterra; I could see the tall clock where Edward stood; getting ready to kill himself because he thought I was dead. I wanted Edward. It was a sunny day; the Volturi wore their long robes. What did Tonya do in the sun? When she stepped out, nothing happened. She held my arms again, she scanned the area; her eyes were filled with hatful memories.
We passed the clock. I remembered the tunnel I passed through with Edward. We walked for a while; I glanced up at Tonya; whose face was know stern and fierce. She stopped for a moment and looked behind her, at the empty tunnel. She showed a brief sign of relief.
We know entered a hall. ‘I haven’t been here before’ I thought. We were lead into a fairly large chamber. It had stone walls, ceilings, and floor. There was a simple bench, a couple of chains attached to the far wall. There were a couple small windows as well, to give the area some light. Tonya and I sat on the bench, Tonya coughed a couple times, and she raised her arm to her mouth and wiped it. Demetri and Jane stood and the door entrance silently, four guards stood at the other walls. Jane stared at Tonya. Tonya smirked at her and turned her eyes black. Jane frowned in what looked like fear, Tonya smiled darkly and her eyes returned to normal.
