More Marvel Stuff!

So April is here and there's a little movie in theaters called Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As such, it's time to talk about various Marvel things!

First off, I'm happy to see that the movie is making some decent box office money. When I first saw the trailer for the movie last year, I got a good vibe off of it and it was something that I was hoping would do decently at the box office. Marvel is certainly on their game when it comes to movies and it will be interesting to see just how much money Cap 2 does and if this will cause Warner Bros. to bump Superman vs Batman to a different weekend in 2016.

Though I have no doubt that 2016 will be the summer of Superman vs Batman, you still can't help but wonder if they'll blink and move the movie to a weekend where they can make as much money as possible, instead of having Cap 3 open on the same weekend, eating away at their profits.

Speaking of Cap 2, Marvel Heroes is celebrating the movie with a Cap/Black Widow bundle that is pretty sweet. Though everyone was expecting them to give us a character from the movie, like they did with Loki when Thor 2 came out. What everyone was expecting, was the Winter Soldier himself to be playable, but alas, all of our hopes and dreams were dashed when he didn't show up.

But we got a great consolation prize! Though it seems Marvel wants them from holding off on introducing Bucky to the game just yet, instead, we got a playable Taskmaster! Yay! Taskmaster! After a solid weekend of playing the game, I've leveled him up and have also prestiged him, which means, I just restarted him because he's that fun. Plus I feel that once I hit max level now, it's kind of a waste to not re-level them. You get a free costume out of it and you can mix 3 costumes together and get a random one, so yeah, I've started on the road to prestiging in Marvel Heroes.

And although we did not receive the Winter Soldier for the movie, we will be getting movie Falcon as a Team-Up character in the coming weeks, along with Team-Up Spidey, Magik and FIRESTAR! The new Team-Up feature lets us Team-Up with a purchasable NPC basically that will have its own stats and abilities. I believe these were called Mercenaries in Diablo, but since I never played Diablo, well, I'm not sure it's the right term and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Late March also saw the release of Dr. Strange in the game and he's one of the top tier heroes because of how much work went into him, while Taskmaster is a low tier hero for copy and paste purposes.

It was pretty sweet to get 2 heroes in the span of a week. Now the next 3 confirmed heroes are Invisible Woman for April, Psylocke for May and Mister Fantastic for June. Can't say I'm a big fan of Invisible Woman or Mister Fantastic. I find the F4 to be the most boring group in all of Marvel. For the time being, I'm going to skip playing both Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic, simply saving up my splinters for Venom, Magneto and Juggernaut when they eventually come out.

Mmmmm, Juggernaut, can't wait for him to come out. I think Deadpool, Taskmaster and Juggernaut are going to end up being my top 3 in this game when all 3 are released.

Speaking of Deadpool, the guy is getting married in April! Hooray! Can't wait to find out who he is marrying in the comics! Crazy hijinks are sure to ensure!

And speaking of comics, Superior Spider-Man is coming to an end this month, followed by a new Amazing Spider-Man #1. I have to say it's kind of sad they decided to reboot Spider-Man like that. When DC when the New 52 route, it sucked that Action Comics would not reach the 1000 issue milestone and I was hoping Spider-Man would get it. I guess I'll never see a comic actually reach that milestone in my life time. So sad. :(
