To Lindsay's defense, I really think she was freaking out about losing the challenge. They were all given the same warning about how delicate the dresses were, but Maryam simply didn't heed it due to the language barrier. It doesn't make either them any more in the wrong, but it does bring out the worst in people considering the nature of the competition. I can hardly blame them for blaming each other with so much at stake.
I can probably apply the same notion of stress and frustration in driving people to be senselessly critical of someone who doesn't fit into their crowd to how Meaghan and Nikita treated Maryam, but it did frustrate me that they kept doing it anyway even when they acknowledged it was wrong. They were insensitive or simply ignorant to Maryam's culture and origins. Nikita was being her habitually bitchy self but Meaghan disappointed me a tad more for being a sheep and going along with Nikita because I thought she was sensible and reflective in the past.
But yeah, I looked up where Meaghan and Nikita were from and now I'm wondering about how culturally diverse of Winnipeg and Calgary really are for them to think nothing of making fun of immigrants and their difficulties like that. o_o
Winnipeg is PLENTY culturally diverse, believe me. Although Meghan grew up in a more middle-class neighbourhood (I don't know her personally, but friends of friends, etc. have led me to learn where she lives), I definitely wouldn't call anyone in this city culturally insensitive.
I moreso agree with your earlier statement re: the fact they're probably under so much pressure they just took it out on one another, although I'm definitely in agreement it saddened me to see Meghan join in on Nikita's hate train. I'm curious as to what the environment would be like were Heather still around over Nikita or Linsay...
