MOD Post
My apologies for those of you that had posts waiting in queue all this time. I've been MIA for 8 weeks for a good reason, I didn't abandon you. We were coming home from seeing my family in Alberta and got in a pretty horrific car accident near Vermillion. An 85 year old man switched lanes right in front of us without looking as we were all traveling 115 km/h (74 miles). The car was totaled, on fire and I was trapped inside with a shattered ankle and multiple breaks in my legs and foot. Thankfully a truck driver had a fire extinguisher and we had blankets to put out the fire with until the emerg team got there. They had to use the jaws of life to get me out of the car.
I had to have a couple surgeries in Edmonton (U of A Hospital ftw) and was in the hospital for all this time. I finally got to come home a few days ago after promising to be careful and not try to walk. I have a shattered ankle that they had to rebuild with titanium mesh, as well as multiple breaks in my legs that required a few plates, a few pins and lots of screws. I'm still unable to walk but I'll be able to start physiotherapy in about a months time and hopefully by Xmas will be using crutches or a cane. It was the scariest thing I have ever experienced and I am so happy to just be alive. Nobody else was hurt which was a miracle.
I just wanted to apologize again for the wait on posts and I am currently looking for someone to be co-mod should circumstances arise that I may need to disappear for surgery again etc. Send me a message if you're interested, how old you are, where you're from and why you think you'd be a good mod!
