Following
a pattern by Jess Huff, I completed this plush cow using yarn I already had. (It's probably Red Heart SuperSaver.) I made the head first, stuffed and all, and it sat on its own for weeks before I finally got to the legs and body.
Overall, it's not a difficult pattern. Simple stitches. The only thing that threw me for a bit was this maker's approach to attaching limbs; she closes them in such a way that they can be crocheted on as you go. No sewing after pieces are complete. It took a couple tries, but I got the hang of it and managed to position everything pretty evenly.
I'm thinking I'll pick up a children's farm book and gift it with this to my other cousin (not the doctor cousin). They're expecting a baby sometime around January but have a baby shower in November.
