So, here's my problem.
My cat spends A LOT of time after using the catbox digging/covering/clawing the side of the catbox instead of litter.
It wakes us up.
It also makes the other cat curious, so he comes to see what all the fuss is about. Hissing, growling, and all sorts of other unpleasant noises result. (Anyone who has heard my cat when she sees another cat can attest to this. Seriously, you'd expect Exorcist-style pea soup or daemons or something.)
She does this regardless of the level of litter, regardless of the level of... other stuff, with the top off or on. I almost think she feels 'crowded' in the box, and that's why she scratches the sides so much instead of the litter, but this box is ridiculously huge, so I don't think we can fit a bigger one anywhere. I thought about a shallower box, so that the sides wouldn't be sticking up so high, but I think that will just mean cat litter EVERYWHERE.
Has anyone had this problem? Any solutions? Waking up once or twice EVERY SINGLE NIGHT is just not working out for us, but I don't know what to do about it.
