Last night, much fun was had seeing Imogen Heap. I don't really go to concerts anymore, but I've liked her since she released her first album almost 10 years ago, so I thought why not.
Her opening... well, I can't say "bands" because they were just two guys. Levi Weaver and Kid Beyond. Both were incredible, actually. I've never seen an opening act get a standing ovation before. Supposedly, Kid Beyond's on youtube and you all need to go search and find out for yourselves, because it's really hard to describe otherwise.
As for Immi, well, she was awesome, of course. It was only the second night of the tour and so there were some minor technical glitches, but such is life when sequencing and recording live loops is part of your show. Still, she was entertaining even when her equipment was acting up and any problems only lasted mere minutes at most. There was only one song from her first album, which I was a bit disappointed about because it's a great CD and I never saw her back then. She more than made up for it by closing with my two favourites from her most recent CD and she too got a standing O from the crowd.
Highly recommended, if they're coming to your town.
