So The Wedding Singer, Cry Baby and Ever After are all in the works to be Broadway musicals by the beginning of 2007. Toss in LOTR and the upcoming Lestat stage version and I guess the theatre crowd is slowly joining filmmakers in no longer wishing to promote original ideas.
Although, I suppose with several musicals having been turned into movies, turnabout is only fair play.
