Aeryn is really very good at avoiding people when she chooses to. And right now, it seems like she has a lot of people to avoid for one reason or another. She's tired of people leaving, she's tired of arguing, and while working things out is good advice, she isn't sure right now how to work things out. Trying didn't work out too well ( Read more... )

Parker knocked on Aeryn's door, holding a bottle of kahlua. "Aeryn, you home?"

At least it's not John.

Aeryn gets up, pulling the door open. "Hi."

"Hi." Parker held out the bottle. "I was hoping we could spar today, but, what do you know? Working out and sparring and basketball all called on account of lava."

In retrospect, probably a good thing Aeryn didn't go down there. "Yes, that would put a bit of a damper on things..." she agrees. It's also a good excuse for not really being up for hitting things at this point. Saves an explanation.

"So." Parker's not having the best of all possible days, either. "You're not allowed to leave again. You already did it." She wanders in and leaves the kahlua on Aeryn's desk. "So, no doing it again until I'm out of here too, okay?"

That might be easier to hear if it wasn't for the arguments she's been having lately. On the plus side, it's the first time Aeryn's actually gotten to really snap in the last week. "Sure, I'll base my comings and goings on everyone else's schedule, then. I'm just going to start listening to everyone else on where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be doing and when I can go from place to place, because that worked so well for me before. But because you said so, sure."

Parker leaned against the wall and glared back at Aeryn. "That was supposed to be a joke. Or irony. About the futility of trying to stop anyone from going." She slumped a bit, crossing her arms and looking moody. "Not funny, though. Is it. This sucks."

"My microbes must not understand irony," Aeryn replies, still clenching her jaw.

"Or your mood is worse than mine." Parker studied her another moment, then rolled her eyes. "Right. I'm outta here. Find me when you're not prickling at everything. I'll be the one wanting to hit something."

Aeryn almost tells her that wasn't prickling at everything, but she bites her tongue and decides it's not worth it. So she just gives a little nod as a goodbye.

Parker leaves, because unlike some people in Fandom, she and Aeryn don't *have* to fight just because they're pissed off.
