The gym, midday Tuesday

After Criminal Justice, Aeryn checks the gym to see if anyone else is there. It's empty for once, so she goes to get her gloves, straps them on, and starts pounding away at the punching bag

After getting dragged into art class to be kissed, Cameron heads down to the gym to shoot some hoops. "Yo, Aeryn."

"Hi," Aeryn greets him, smacking the bag with a fist, followed closely by the other.

"So who are you hitting?" Cameron asks as he watches her for a moment. Somehow she makes it look a whole lot easier than it is.

She pauses just long enough to shrug. "No one in particular," she says, hitting it again.

[cameronmitchell]

"Too bad," he wouldn't mind her hitting Jack Harkness right about now. Cameron moves off to get one of the basketballs.

She almost laughs a little when she looks back at him. "Too bad?" she repeats.

[cameronmitchell]

Cameron waves a hand at her. "Don't mind me, I'm being petty." He picks out a ball, dribbles it for a moment to check if it isn't flat and moves to the goal. "How are you?"

Another shrug, and she kicks the back a little half-heartedly. "Same as usual."

"Is that 'same as usual this entire school is crazy', 'same as usual my boyfriend is a twit' or 'same as usual one of my friends turned into a koala and is now trying to eat my verns as he thinks it's eucaliptus, but other than that I'm actually fine'?" Cameron asks as he throws the ball. "Or there's always option d; 'I don't want to talk about it."

Aeryn doesn't understand a single thing about the third option. She's not even sure all the words translated correctly. "Same as usual there are things I can't fix," she clarifies. And punches the bag for emphasis.

"Ah, famous option e." Cameron nods. "I'd offer to spar, but you'd kick my ass."

"Probably," she grins. "What about you? Why are you petty?"

He doesn't reply at first, runs a pretend game with himself and ends up dunking the basketball.

"Because I feel like hitting someone who needs help."

Aeryn watches him for a moment, then takes off her gloves and offers them to him.

He chuckles and tilts his head as he considers the offer and moves up to Aeryn and the punching bag. "I thought you were working out..."

"Sometimes you just need to hit something," she explains.
