Once the wedding was over, the Sun-Crichton party was ushered back indoors to the reception inside the
Charles Hotel. The room was done up very nicely in red and black (for no reason, really), lit with candles and Christmas lights, several large
tables set up around

"Um. I'm not good at talking. More of a life or death kinda guy. 'Course I've been told if I screw this up I'll get sta.. uh - " Angel glanced at John's family in the audience. "Um. So. John and Aeryn. I first got to know them when I - " Angel stared at the notes that said 'was unsouled but under a spell' " - uh... was not myself. But the two of them really proved themselves during the - " there went the note about the zombie fight " - um... midterms, and I remembered them for their courage and determination. As students.
"Later on I - " there was the note about getting souled, agonizing pain, people near death thanks to him " - was having a difficult time. With classes. And they were there for me, even though plenty of people were hoping I'd fail."
Angel paused. That wording actually worked out. He was just as surprised as anyone.
"So, uh, time went on and - " more notes about invasions " - we had plenty of tests - " there was the section about going after Darla and Dru " - formed an amazing study group - " more invasions, Angel getting poisoned, Aeryn leaving, John's bout with insanity, Fandom as a whole...
Angel set all his cards aside. This may have looked a lot like throwing them on the floor and hoping no one would notice. "Um. Yeah. Point is, John and Aeryn - they're good people. And I know from bad ones. They deserve every happiness in the world. I'm glad they've got it with each other."
Angel raised his glass. "To them."
