Today was an absolutely wonderful day. Well it started off with a small whirl. Just before going up the escalator to the train, I decided to do a mental checklist of things I need to bring and realised I missed something essential. Small merry-go-round in the morning and I was enroute to the eastern part of Singapore.
Good morning to ba zhang!!! And just a slow lazy 2 hours watching tv and the occasional chatter. Trouped over to the swimming pool and entered the water with a splash. Oh yes!! Sometimes I do that, especially when there aren't many around. It was short lived when a loud and long rumble of thunder banged and the lifeguards blew all whistles signaling no swimming. All is not lost though cuz fishballs and chicken wings became the focus of attention. It was lifted soon after and the sun played peek-a-boo for a while before letting out full steam!!
The 3 hours in the pool gave me time to think, talk, and unwind while processing all the various things that are happening. Actually I think the brief conversations in each time pocket was a thread that slowly unwinded over the day. We laughed, talk, learnt to float (yes!!). I had a shower in a public swimming pool, which I've not done in years and wrapped up the swim with a block of chocolate ice cream held together between two wafer pieces. The sky greyed as we left, much to our delight, thankful that He held the clouds to allow us the water fun time.
It's always nice to walk into a supermarket, even better to enter a "premium" one. But nothing beats shopping the rows and aisles together with someone and picking out things together. Brought a smile to my face.
Another 2 hours of CSI and channel shuffling followed and then dinner. This is the highlight of today, something that I've looked forward to in all 13 years. Egg plant, one of my favourite veggies!! Prawnies!!! Yum yum yum!! And tau kwa. Take it all with scallop porridge. Simple and made with love, the ingredient that makes everything taste so much better.
I had the privilege and honor to say grace, blessing the hands that prepared dinner, and we ate!! The egg plant was D.E.Li.Cious!! Sweet yummy prawns. Tastylicious tau kwa with *cough* premium *cough cough gasp* $2.40 loin pork. ($2.40 is premium cuz the cost cap is $2.50 per pax.) So sweet of you to hit the full budget on me. Honoured guest. And not forgetting the premium scallopiee porridge. Super atas hee hee.
It's not over. The food was so good, yummy and tasty that I finished everything down to the last drop of sauce!! Dessert came in ice cream, vanilla milk covered in green solero lime sherbet. And then it came time to depart.
One of the greatest days in a long long time. Best cuz it is another 'FIRST' to add on the list. It was very very good.
Thank you for putting your heart and love into everything you do and cooking such a wonderful dinner for me. Score-100!! Full marks and 3 stars!! Your friendship is irreplaceable and you are a precious gift to me from Jesus. Thank you for always loving me despite my shortcomings and faults.
