Global Day of Prayer
Thank You Jesus, for Your mercies that are new every morning, for Your unfailing grace, and Your undeserving love that fills us until our cup overflows.
I love my job, I love what I do. It is Your love that has started this work in me and given me this burning desire to make better what is wrong.
As we spend today in prayer all around the world, dear Lord, please hear our desperate cry for Your hand of grace and mercy upon this earth. Give us the strength to continue doing this work and to go beyond ourselves as we extend Your love to the vulnerable. Give us hope when we despair and remind us that You are always in control regardless of the circumstances.
Everything about this job has nicely fit in. I believe that You have indeed called me here for this time and this purpose. I am convinced that You planned this and this is absolutely not by any chance. Thank You for all the training and preparation to be sufficiently equipped and ready for this role.
That I am finally living out my dream. It is a first step to going around the world and placing a gift in the outstretched arms of children and then looking into their eyes to see a sparkle of joy and their smile. That I am actively doing something in response to my deep-rooted conviction to help the poor and to fight injustice and speak up for the oppressed, especially the vulnerable children.
Even though I have volunteered 10 years, even though I have seen and heard the same message all this time, it has never once waned. My excitement stays the same and I am always moved with the same intensity. Rather I am further charged up to act swifter and to be an advocate to spread this message and incite more responses.
May my heart always remain tender and not be cold or indifferent.
