Immortality or True Love

Fountain of Youth
長生不老

Why has men been so captivated by this quest throughout all time? We search for immortality, trying to reverse time, buy time, gain time. And yet, in all tales where this is obtained, the subject always wishes he/she never got it.

Why live forever and endure the pain of watching your loved ones die whilst you stay alive? The sacrifice of immortality, is eternal suffering. That, I guess is why, our years on earth are few, so we don't have to go through this too often.

Immortality or true love? Is it better to have fallen in love & lived one day, or live forever but not taste true love? In City of Angels, he said that, if he had to choose again, knowing her time would soon be up, he would still make the same decision. That is, to fall and become a mere mortal, and to be with her. Just one day, just one touch, he would rather have that, than live all of eternity without them. All you need is love; love is like oxygen. It is better to love and be loved in return, than to have never loved at all.

Having a good thing for a brief moment, is much more valuable, than having every other thing for eternity.

Humans are an interesting breed. What we have, we do not want; what we do not have, we want. The forbidden is always tastier. Our mind is absolutely fascinating. If we could only begin to understand ourselves in all honesty, we might find the answers to global issues which continue to plague us.

Personally, I will do anything to find love, and to hold on to it. Although it may result in hurt, but the risk is worthwhile if something beautiful unfolds. I never hold back, and I love fiercely, with 200% because it is true love is precious. Affinity doesn't come easily, so never let go, and never stop daring to love. Because love keeps us alive, and gives us hope. And it is definitely way better than immortality.
