Passionate

There are a couple of things I am passionate about. Some, I used to be passionate about. But the thing about passion, it hardly goes away. I'm referring to the deep, genuine passion and not those sudden liking. In the event I lose my focus in the future, I'd like to note these down so I will always have something to look back on and jog my flames if they should ever die.

1) God, Jesus Christ. He truly is, the first and foremost on my list, and in my heart. Much of Him has been clamped under by my personal desires. I must never forget that, in my truest and deepest of heart, He really is someone I still love.

2) My family. No matter what happens, how ever far the drift, they still matter to me. The last few years have proved that. With my sis moving to Australia, her absence and her family's have affected me. The younger one has also started working and her lifestyle changes have also made an impact. My Mom has walked through all these unfazed, and yet still accepted me with open arms, for who I am.

3) My buddy. Even after years of silence, apart from the occasional text message, there was not an inch of divide, and we simply picked up from where we dropped off. Now how often do you get that in your life?? Her perseverance is something I strive to attain.

4) Children. Yes, especially the needy ones. I've seen and heard their cries. No, really, I have, through the assistance of World Vision, and it never fails to make my heart pound, with empathy for them, with a fierce determination to help make it better for them, and with an anger that burns against those who cause it. No child should be made to endure such terrible conditions, and yet such disparity can exist in this world. So much for, it's a small world.

5) Giving my best in everything I do. People have said I am an extreme person. Frankly, I do think so as well. In all I do, I put my heart and soul into it, giving my 200%, so you can sure you get nothing less than my best. The organizations who can testify to this are World Vision, HP, & Starbucks. And all 3 have shaped the way I think and do things today. They all have a part to play in my life. Though I do not have a passion for the company itself, but the folks i worked with have definitely made a lasting impression.

6) A very good friend, the best store manager I could ever ask for, in my Starbucks stint. Yes, she really helped groom my social skills, when I had to deal with difficult customers and partners. It's a different ball game in HP, and so my actions didn't work. I also learnt a lot about sales at the frontline, and I pitched my knowledge as a backend agent, combined with what I learnt facing customers to provide topnotch quality to people.

All of these have made me who I am today. I hope I can be kinder, especially to those who do not seem to deserve it. Thank you, and I will always look back on this entry, should I lose focus in the days ahead.
