1960 - The first two-way telephone conversation by satellite took place with the help of Echo 1, a balloon satellite.
The beginning of the cell phone era. Ugh. Look what chaos they've created. Now, 11 year olds want phones "in case of emergencies." Yeah, right. I think we then need to ask them what constitutes as an emergency. Calling your friend, Ashley, in order to find out who she sneaked around the playground slide to kiss is not one of them. Or to just sit on the phone like a broken record, "So what's up?........Yeah, same here; nothing much. So......anything else? Yeah, I know, me too."
