Well, after a bit of prodding from
cframe, I finally got a
Flickr account. Find me
here, or use my
photostream RSS feed.
I've been eyeing the service for quite some time, but the first time I was tempted to sign up, I was taking a lot of photos and found it more convenient to host them on my home server (since I could just drop them into my 'Z' drive, which was the public_html directory on the server.)
Then I got impatient with my lack of outbound bandwidth, since my connection tended to die from people loading images I'd posted on LJ, and I looked at Flickr again - but it had been bought by Yahoo, and required a Yahoo ID. I actually had two IDs, one of which was 'camtarn' and which I couldn't get into, and one of which was a throwaway account I'd only created to subscribe to the GA and SURGe groups. I emailed Yahoo to try and get back into my original account (I much prefer to use my own handle all around the net, rather than using multiple random handles) but they wanted me to fax them... meh. So I put that aside for a while.
So now I've registered another Yahoo ID, one which I'm a bit more content using ('camtarn_org'), so I'm finally on Flickr. Yay.
I'm almost tempted to start carrying my old digital camera around again, if only it didn't eat batteries so much...
