I got a new dog... again. But this time I went to the pound and adopted him, so it's for keeps. He's a red brindle chow mix, he weighs, or is suppose to weigh 40 lbs. The morning after I got him I found out he had worms and a cold, and it's hard to get him to eat ANYthing, so he's really thin. We're calling him Bear, just because it's a fitting name for a dog of his looks. But he's really the sweetest creature I have ever met; when he takes food from my hand, he doesn't snatch or even allow me to feel his teeth. When you pet him, he give himself over whole-heartedly and just goes all limp. He loves to snuggle.
He's kind of strange, though. He got all worried the first time he heard the washer change cycles, he ran away when I opened the fridge door. He follows me everywhere like he's afraid I'm going to disappear if he takes his eyes off of me. And after getting over his initial fear of his squeaky toy, and squeaked it himself the first time, he got so worried that the stood up and started to whine. Then he would squeak it again and run across the room with the toy in his mouth, squeak and run back to the over side. Once he jumped in my lap and just whined. Now he seems to be feeling better about the toy and plays with it all the time.
Since I couldn't get him to eat dog food, I went out and bought ingredients for dog food. He will eat that but only if I feed it to him a little at a time by hand.
One thing that really attracted me to him at the pound was his resemblance to Frito. I'll post pictures later.
Oh yeah, I got a job. I'm working at Sign-a-rama. Today was my second day.
