what we need is just what we want.
yesterday started off weird. logged onto AOL before work and first thing i saw was the ritter news. i work for his publicists, and he had passed between the time i left work thursday and came in friday so i knew it would be a strange one. a few of the girls were very emotional, but my desk is on the opposite side of the suite from his main publicists, so i was a little distant from it. sad though. so young.
after work i had a cram-session preparing an edmund speech from king lear and ended up being cast in the staged reading that my as-am theater group is doing. it's being directed by an asian actor who i am stoked to rub elbows with and i'd like to be more involved [and visible!] in the as-am entertainment community. i don't know who i'm playing yet, but i'm excited to be involved especially considering how under-prepared i was. eep.
mike and i skipped a party and just watched donnie darko again, then subsequently had an emotionally taxing evening. i think hope it'll be better in the long run and we figure things out together: it feels worth the effort.
tonight is kait-o + the walkmen at spaceland. then maybe kathy's going away party. why is everyone moving away?? danielle just left. tricia. melissa moves to nyc on sunday. shivani to seattle next week. so happy that tricia is coming to visit in 3 weeks though! and vishi comes back from his kerouacian experience soon. soon.
looking forward to sfa + grandaddy + earlimart with tommie on friday then flying up for cloyne party + berkeley visit this weekend.
