It's that time of year again and I thought I'd at least attempt to do something nice for everyone. Thus, if you'd like a fic, probably a short one but it depends, leave me a comment! It may be after the first of the year when you get it, but it will be done

"You really think so?" David asked, watching more intently.
"I really think so."
"Hmm." David said, looking thoughtful as he brought up the newest discovery he'd made.

John Sheppard grinned at Cameron as they walked through the city. "Now you see the real fun part of having the gene. Being a ginena pig for whatever new Ancient device that the scientists discover."
"I know you don't do this all the time..." Cam told him, raising an eyebrow ala Teal'c.
"Nah. Not anymore anyway. But it's still a good habit to have the new guys do. Let's them get to know the scientists and a little bit about the technology..." he said, looking entirely too pleased with himself.
"I hate you," Cam told him with a grin.
"Just a little hazing, Mitchell. Have fun with the scientists," John told him, shoving him in the deep end.

Cam panted, feeling lightheaded and dizzy. His eyes fluttered open as they adjusted to the light in the Infirmary. "What happened?" he asked, groaning.
Dr. Keller smiled gently at him. "You had a bad reaction to some technology. It happens every so often. Mostly with the really old things that are uncovered. You should be fine, but I want to keep you for a few hours for observation."
"Do you really have too? I'm fine. I woke up. It's not like you'll find anything wrong with me anyway," Cam crabbed at her then looked astonished. "I wasn't going to say that outloud. I was thinking it, but I would never just blurt it out like that. Oh God. That device did something to me, didn't it?" he asked.
"Looks like..." Keller said, doing another diagnostic.

John came into the Infirmary, taking a seat next to Mitchell's bed. "I heard what happened. Rodney's working on what it was made for..."
"Oh great. You've put the one guy who hates me on the case. That'll be awesome, Sheppard. I know you trust the guy but he hates me with an undying passion."
"No, he doesn't, Mitchell. It was a joke. He understands that. Rodney isn't the bastard that everyone thinks he is," John said.
"Not to you, Sheppard. I just don't want to be on his bad side... he's your friend... and I love you too much to piss them off."
John blinked at Cam as his ears turned bright red. "I-"
"Didn't mean to say that out loud?" John asked, a little jumpy looking.
"I can't control it. My filter for this sort of stuff got blasted by some sort of device. But I'm not sorry. I can't even lie to make this less weird. Should I go get my stuff together?" he asked, looking absolutely miserable.
"Mitchell. Cam. Calm down. You're drugged up on some technology... and who said I was going to tell anyone anyway?" he asked, pinning him with a meaningful look. Cam opened his mouth as John covered it with a hand, leaning close. "Let's just not talk about this right now, ok? But later. We see where this goes. Now I'm going to leave before this gets weirder, ok?" John told him, uncovering his mouth and standing up, leaving the infirmary.
