Evan Lorne stood in Lab 47 looking at the dark haired scientist as she stretched to reach the input cord for her laptop.

“I thought you said you have been in here all night, Porter?”

“I had been. But I ended up leaving for breakfast and unplugged everything so it wouldn’t be running,” Alison explained.

Evan raised an eyebrow and stood by the console, waiting.

“Thank you for helping me out,” Alison told him. “I seem to have a gene that makes Ancient Technology react badly. But work really great with Wraith tech. I’m hoping that this will help that,” she said with a smile.

“And you need me…?”

“Oh. Um. I need someone with a very strong impression of the gene, You, to activate the console so I can use my macro and run my program that will allow me to use this lab to fix the problem and make giving the genetic imprint easier. The failure rate is much too high.”

Evan looked at Porter. “I only understood a portion of that. I’ll turn it on,” he told her.

Porter plugged in her laptop and set the program up. “Ok. Stand on the platform,” Alison directed. Evan obeyed and stood where she pointed. “Alright! Turn it on!”

He thought ON and waited. Evan gasped as he was hit by a beam of light from above. “What in the hell is this, Porter?” he shouted at her as he felt a sharp pain in his shoulders. Evan leaned forward as his back split, blood and pus soaking his shirt as it ripped, revealing two massive grey wings as they stretched out and he shook them, trying to get the excess off. Evan stood up straight. “What the hell is this?”

“C-calm down… Just calm. Be calm,” Alison told him, her voice shaking. “I need Dr. Keller to Lab 47. Please. Now.”

Evan hissed as he felt something weird happen to the area where the wings burst out. His skin crawled and it pulled itself back together. “Oh my God. I think I just healed.”

Alison walked around behind him. “I think so. Your back… Your back is normal except the blood and goop.”

Evan exhaled out of his nose and stretched his wings. “You know… When you said you had bad reactions around the tech, I somehow didn’t expect this.”

Alison hung her head as she started laughing.

“You know, when Alison told me she transformed you into something else, I was a little frightened. Perhaps I should’ve listened to her entire story,” David said as he stood in the doorway of the side room they had put Evan in.

“Maybe. How does it look?” Evan asked.

David walked forward, drawing close as he reacted out and gently touched the tip of his wings. Evan shivered, feeling the sensation bolt through his body.

“Fascinating,” David said softly, watching as Evan’s eyes rolled back into his head, moaning out. “It’s that pleasurable?”

“Yes. Please, David, don’t stop. It’s like… It’s like you’re touching every inch of me…” Evan said, his cock hard.

David glanced down and smirked. “I see,” he told him. “I guess I should stop, considering we’re in the Infirmary…”

“I don’t want you too, but yeah, if you don’t, I’m going to come undone.”

“We’ll pick this up later.”

“God, I can’t wait,” Evan breathed out as he exhaled, trying to calm himself while David stepped just slightly away.

“Still… Your wings are amazing,” David told him. “This is the best thing I’ve ever seen.”

Evan smiled. “Well, hearing that makes this a little better. But I’m grounded either way. No gate travel and if they can’t figure out how to undo the alterations to my DNA, I might never leave the city again.”

David grasped his hand. “It’s going to be alright.”

Evan looked around and leaned forward, kissing him. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Weeks passed and they still had no answer as to how the machine worked. Evan had adapted, shifting a few things around in his personal life as he got used to not going on missions. He longed for the sky but they wouldn’t let him fly either. When he wasn’t with David, he found himself staring into the blue sky and wishing more than anything he was up there.

“Lorne?” Keller’s voice broke through his thoughts.

“Yes, Doctor?” he asked, feeling the flare of hope burn in his chest.

“I need you to come down here. We have a problem.”

Evan felt his hope die as fear jolted through him. “I’ll be right there,” he said, hurrying through the city, folding his wings tight against his back. Evan met Dr. Keller by the entrance. “What is it?”

“Just come with me,” Keller told him as they headed back to the observation room.

Evan’s jaw dropped as he saw David with his shirt off, a large pair of tawny-blond wings. “What did you do? Oh God. I’m going to go kill Porter!”

“It’s not her fault! I did it for you. I didn’t want you to be alone with this… you seemed so lonesome.”

Evan looked at him and crossed the room, dimming the windows around them with the Gene so they would have some privacy. “I never wanted this for you.”

“I know. Which is why I decided to do it. I decided to do it all on my own. Alison doesn’t have a clue.”

Evan hugged him. “I love you. I love you so much,” he told him, his voice rough with emotion.

David kissed him. “I love you too. I meant it when I said I wanted to be with you.”

Evan stood on the balcony of his and David’s new quarters, settled up in the tallest tower of Atlantis with free reign, able to fly around on the planet and nest together with his lover.
