Costa Rica was nothing but incredible.
Our journey began and ended in San Jose where we picked up our rental car and eventually dropped it off. We traveled to Nosara (Playa Guiones), Malpais, and Arenal, then headed down through the most beautiful part of the country back into San Jose. We surfed, hiked, climbed up cliffs, went running, sat on old volcanic rock, walked through the rain forest, swam below waterfalls, and went white water ...swimming. :) We ate incredible food (the sweetest fruit I've ever eaten), saw a bunch of animals, heard howler monkeys at all hours of the day, sang along to every word of Queen's Greatest Hits album, discovered inside jokes we didn't know we had, drank ice cold beer from frosted glasses on our patio overlooking the Arenal Volcano, attempted to find playa blanca off the beaten path but ended up facing the worst road of the whole trip, watched the sun set on a lake while a rainbow formed on the other side of the sky, drove through and higher than the clouds, ate the world's best ice cream sandwiches nearly every day, experienced a freak wind storm, shared a towel huddling under cover while it rained around us, flew with both hands and our torsos out the car window, went days without showering or shaving, wore no make up!, learned more spanish, collected shells and volcanic rock, met lots of people, got to know each other incredibly well, played pool, played in a pool, caught glimpses of a clear star-filled sky, got sun burnt and bitten by bugs, fell in love with life and realized the value of truly living. I'm floating around on a cloud.
