Name: Ichimura Tatsunosuke
Age: approximately 18-20
Series: Peacemaker Kurogane
Canon: Set against the backdrop of the beginnings of the Meiji era, Peacemaker Kurogane is about the path of one Ichimura Tetsunoske on his way to becoming part of the Shinsengumi, the dangerous and unpopular police of the Shogunate. In this world, you can take some enthusiastic captains as mentors, with a side of antagonists who can't seem to make up their mind if they're going to be your best friends or your sworn enemies, and you begin to approach the lives of the characters in this series. However, despite all the light-hearted situations, there are just as many hard questions about living, honor, and loyalty to yourself, your causes, and other people.
Tatsunosuke is Tetsunosuke's long suffering older brother (Tatsu and Tetsu, for short), who cares for his little brother deeply. Despite being an pacifist, Tatsu works for the Shinsengumi as a bookkeeper, to help support both himself and Tetsu after their parents' death. He's normally polite, if reserved, but with a tendency to panic instantly if a strange situation comes up. Despite this, he seems to adjust well to the Shinsengumi, doing extra chores without protest and weakly going along with the loving abuse of the younger captains. Tatsu has also driven himself to nervous
gastritis by being frighteningly obsessive over Tetsu's well being, frequently stalking checking up on him and often rushing to the rescue, whether or not he's needed. Tatsu just wants Tetsu to grow up a little more and act like he knows what the word "manners" means--is that too much to ask for his poor, abused, nerves?
Sample app:
ICHIMURA TETSUNOSUKE, if you don't show yourself RIGHT NOW I may have to ground you for a month. Do you know the amount of paperwork those big, hairy, purple guards shoved at me at the gate of this leper colony? Missing persons report, alien residential visa, accounting license, family medical history, and even a permit to keep a dog...every last form to be filled out in triplicate and with a hefty fee for processing each one! I managed to sneak away from the guards eventually when they were yelling at someone for looking headless incorrectly. I didn't know there was a right way to do it in the first place!
Now I'm afraid that my hands are going to fall off, considering how cramped they are. I know I've seen a few l-laying around here and there. And some of them still had a pen in their hands...which must be a mistake! I'm making sure I find Tetsu before I go home. I want to make sure he's safe, by my side, with my own two eyes and no one else's! Even if k-kind people are trying to lend me theirs--it won't be necessary, really!
All this trouble--oww--my stomach is rumbling again. How did I get myself into this creepy place? I thought searching the red light district for the captains was the worst, but how wrong I was! Random body parts strewn left and right, birds that seem to be leering, not a single person who will answer my questions or requests--being sent out to a swamp to find missing people has to be the worst request ever. My stomach--ow--isn't going to be able to take much more of this. And my manager is going to dock my pay at this rate, or worse, fire me for taking so long to find my brother, but it can't be helped! If only there was a person I could trust to ask for directions...
Oh, madame! I'm sorry to bother you! Especially since you're the first person with all their limbs intact I've seen in this strange leper colony. And a tad more respectable too, of course. Have you seen my little brother? He's about this tall, hair a slightly lighter color then mine, a unfortunate tendency to cause incidental, but hopefully minor, property damage? Very loud? Oh, you've seen him? W-what? A-ah, that is to say, I'm very thankful to hear that you have some news about him, but there's no need to get quite so close to me, since I'm sure that a normal voice will do just as well as a whisper...a-ah-hah-haaaaaah-mppphhh!
I'm very, very sorry for thinking you were a woman, sir, but I think I hear someone calling my name over there. Yes, you can't see them, so it must be very urgent! I'm afraid that I'm going to have to run now. Oh gods, there was something wriggling down there, too. I'm going to be sick.
Tetsu, when I find you, you're going to be grounded for life if I find out that one of those...men have touched you~!

Series:
Higurashi no Naku Koro niAge: 15-16 (never clearly stated)
Canon: Higurashi is about the lives of the villagers of a nice little village that is called Hinamizawa. It's a great place to live, if you don't mind the murders that happen every year and that the fact that the kids are kind of unstable. Kind of meaning it ranges from
Keiichi is the newest resident of Hinamizawa, and due to his charismatic personality and impressive way with words when it's really important, he quickly leaves an impression on everyone he meets! He also has an extremely easy time making friends, despite being new to the village. And once he has made a friend, he'll do his all to help them with any problems they might have! Be it taking a blow for them, helping to solve a puzzle, or even hiding a dead body!
Sample Post:
Okay my new decomposing friend! I know we got off to a bad start and all, but we can make up for that, right? I'm just a normal guy, after all! What is a baseball bat upside the skull between pals? Besides, you recovered fine! Look at this handsome rotting face! What lovely lady zombie could resist that charming smile? But were you missing all those teeth before I hit you?
Wait a second, did that depressing moan you just let out indicate you have never felt the touch of another rotting corpse?! Hm... Okay then! That settles it! I, Maebara Keiichi, shall help you steal the heart of the finest looking zombie you have ever seen! Now, let's go down a list of what to look for in a fine undead female companion!
First! Personality! When you shuffle up to her, does her groaning suggest she likes big brains, or little ones? Does she prefer biting on the skull, or the limbs?! These are important details, so be sure to notice these things! And always remember to first meet them with your limbs in the right places! It won't be a good start if you go to shake her hand and it's your leg up there!
Moving on, how about we follow up on the whole limbs in the right places thing? Make sure she isn't falling apart! Nothing makes a first meeting more awkward than going up to her, only for her jaw to dislodge! Or her chest to suddenly fall off! Which, by the way, may mean your lady zombie was a trap zombie!
Finally, for the last of my tips regarding zombie dating, pick a good location to go out to eat! A mall, contrary to popular media belief, is not the best choice! Every zombie and his dead great grandmother will go there! Bars are also out of the question! Those are nothing but zombie hazard zones! Your best bet will be a small rural village with little to no people in it!
... hey, I think I know just the place! Yes! Hinamizawa!
Now let me just tell you how to get-- Ah, wait a sec... I, uh, just realized... You've been looking at me kind of funny for a while, my decomposing pal. In the kind of way that says "Let me gnaw on your brain to get some of your cool, amazing, and incredible skills!" Now listen here, that is not the kind of thing a guy keeps in his brain! It comes from here! In the heart! Ya gotta pour your soul out to get that kinda impact!
W-w-whoa! I know I said I'd help you steal a heart, and I plan to stick by that! But you can't have mine!
Poll Vote! Name: Tsuyukusa
Age: Appears to be mid-teens
Series:
Amatsuki Canon: When Rikugou Tokidoki is made to do make-up work for his failing history grade, he didn't expect to do it at a virtual Edo-era history museum which immersed the patrons fully into a virtual reality version the past. Nor did he expect the lines between simulation and reality were going to blur after he was attacked by a wandering ayakashi (a.k.a. monster), getting him stuck inside the simulation where everything suddenly became very real-- not to mention a war occurring between the humans and ayakashi he involuntarily gets dragged into. And people say homework is boring.
On the side of the ayakashi is Tsuyukusa, a tree spirit who claims to hate humans. His intelligence, when coupled with his fondness for plants, gives him a profound knowledge of them and their various properties. However, he's also immature, irritable, and fiercely independent. But while he hates spending time on pleasantries and can be too blunt and proud, especially when he has other things he'd rather do, Tsuyukusa has his calmer moments, and can be kind and compassionate to those who appeal to him or to his sense of right and wrong.
Sample Post:
Honestly, the way you humans abuse things and then expect it all to turn out all right disgusts me. So as if I'm going to join your party to help you kill the vines just for them fighting back, even if it would give you 'experience points', whatever that means. Get real! If you wanted me to do you a favor, you can forget it! I had no intention of helping out some humans that only care about brains, anyway. But seeing how I'm the only one with any brains around here, I can see why you wanted me to.
Now that that's clear, why the hell am I being kept in this place anyway? It's boring and there's nothing to eat, or at least nothing I'd eat-- everything is too polluted. Not to mention the gorillas, who should've been protecting this place, but when I talked to them they just spent all their time talking about herbal essences instead. That wasn't so bad, I can understand the 'urge to be herbal', but shouting yes to every question I had and then going on about 'cumin', which is a spice and not a herb might I add, was just confusing things! I ended up telling them that if they weren't going to do anything about you humans polluting this place, they shouldn't expect someone else, like me, to do it for them either.
The same applies to you humans. Yeah, yeah, there's a barrier. I get it, we're all stuck. I'm still more worried about the environment, though the barrier is a problem. Just because you have that guardian spirit with tentacles in the lake doesn't give you all an excuse to neglect the this place. If anything, it makes the situation worse! Because seriously, are you humans that stupid? Tch, it's bad enough that the lake is poisoned, but it should be obvious that the plants around it will be affected too. And that's your problem, isn't it? If the plants are acting strange, that's the clue that you're not doing things right. And at the rate this is going, the trees could die too, so get to the root of the problem already!
...h-hey, I didn't mean that by removing the problem you should remove you head! And don't give me that nonsense about it just being a flesh wound! Since it can't be helped, the least I can do is bandage you back together. Don't get me wrong though, this is just pay back for telling me about the barrier! Meanwhile, you! Yes, you! If you want your friend to get patched up, then you'd better do as I say! So go fetch some herbs, but do it quickly. Thyme is of the essence here.

Character: Chrome Dokuro
Series:
Katekyo Hitman Reborn!Character Age: 13
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn - that mafia manga starring a hitman home tutor who just so happens to be a baby; his student Tsuna, who would actually rather not be in the mafia, thank you very much; and a unique assembly of characters who want to help Tsuna, hinder him, murder him, or use his body for nefarious purposes.
Chrome Dokuro is one of these characters. Once named Nagi, her life changed when she was in a car accident that destroyed several of her organs. Her family intended to let her die, but it was then that she was happened upon by Mukuro Rokudou, a young criminal gifted with using illusions. Though locked away in prison, Mukuro's consciousness was able to talk with Chrome - he created illusory organs so she could live on. In return, Chrome carried his consciousness along with her, and due to this, she is able to use his illusions.
Chrome is a serious, self-contained girl of very few words, with a confidence beyond her years, highly independent and driven. She has an absolute trust for Mukuro and his companions, and respect for Tsuna, who becomes "Boss" after she is appointed his Guardian of Mist. She tries to be helpful to them, regardless of whether this means risking her life or squirting a teammate with a water gun to give him a bath. Chrome is being apped post-Varia arc, pre-Ten Years Later Arc.
Sample Post:
Were you talking to me? Oh. No, I don't want sweets. But, I'm not sure where I am. I was looking for my friends in the woods - they went somewhere without me. I've been following them all day. Kokuyou's forest is bigger than I thought. I'm glad I've found someone, even if you're a little strange. You must be very hot in that bear costume you're wearing.
You want to know where I bought my boots? These are an illusion. The mud in the swamp is sticky, like glue. My boots got stuck in it. I had to take them off, and when I looked back there was a purple gorilla in a tutu trying to steal them. I don't know what it's going to do with them. Gorillas' legs aren't really long enough for them. I created these boots instead. But these are girls' shoes, so I don't know what you'd want with them-- oh. But I don't think they'll come in your size. Sorry.
Everyone I meet here seems to be odd. There was an old man, in the forest, who had a skin complaint. His skin was falling off. He wouldn't answer me. But he looked lonely. He must have been driven out of his town. I put an illusion on him to cover up his skin. He was so grateful he tried to hug me, but his teeth got in the way. ... Why are you offering me that doll? I don't need it. I'm too old for them. I don't want to show you anything on it, I just want to find my friends. What do you mean, I shouldn't be afraid to tell people about it? There isn't anything to say. If you haven't seen my friends, I'm wasting my time here. No, I don't need any help finding them. With all the trees around, I'm sure I'll find them much faster on my own than in your "white van".
Your costume's a little scary. The eyes are almost soulless. Do you really think it's "fun for all the girls and boys"? I ... don't agree. So please stop looking at me like you want to eat me. ... What? It's not a costume? ... Well. I didn't mean to say anything rude. I have to go now. I'll leave you alone, Mr. Bear--
--please don't grab me like that! I have to find my friends. ... That didn't mean I wanted you to grab me in a different place. I'd really rather you didn't grab there. ... You're not listening. I didn't want to fight with you, but there; you can deal with these. These animals aren't just my illusions - they're real. Release me, or they'll hurt you.
... Though I thought they'd be snakes, not toucans.
Applicant #2
Character: Chrome Dokuro
Series: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Character Age: 14-15
Canon: Reborn is the tale of Sawada Tsunayoshi, a teenaged jesus on a quest to live as normal a life as possible while his crazy baby tutor tries to turn him into an Italian mafia boss. As part of the mafia deal, he gains a band of guardians to protect him from the frequent assassination attempts that come with being the boss. These guardians embody certain archetypes derived from types of weather. Making up one half of the Guardian of Mist (AKA dark and mysterious strangers, or possibly lying-liars) is Chrome Dokuro. The other half is made up of those times Mukuro Rokudo borrows her body.
Chrome is usually quiet, socially awkward and withdrawn, so much so that when she was nearly killed trying to save a cat, her parents decided that her life wasn't worth saving via organ transplant. Luckily for her the man of her dreams, Mukuro, found her, saved her life, and taught her to use her powers (which allow her to create illusions amongst other things). Chrome tends to be kind and helpful in general, but always somewhat distanced from those outside of Mukuro's group, and some might say from reality. Her speech patterns reflect this, as she tends to speak in short, slightly awkward sentences, and often trails off in the middle of them. Her adoration of Mukuro is absolute, and she has absolute confidence in her ability to carry out his will. She is always trying to improve herself to impress him, for example trying to learn Italian so that she can converse with him in his native language. She may call Tsuna "boss", but her loyalty unquestionably belongs to the mysterious man she only meets in her dreams.
Sample post:
Ah... please don't touch that. The meat still needs to cook a bit longer, and you'll disturb the ducklings. They're working very hard to keep that fire steady.... just a few more minutes and it should be done though. I hope Mukuro-sama likes toucan. It was the closest to chicken I could find for his pizza. I think it should taste similar, though. Toucans eat seeds and things, right? Oh... you want the brains? There's only one, but I don't need it. It's there near that tree. It's only small so I hope it's enough for you.
No, that's not the brain. Those are tomatos. I hope. You can't eat them, I need them for the pizza too. It took a long time to collect them. They kept trying to bite me. But it's to make Mukuro-sama feel more at home here, so I could do it. Tomatos are important for Italian cooking. I'll have to get a lot better at it. Next time they won't tear my clothes at all... oh, be careful. If you get too close they'll- Oh. Will you be okay without all your toes? You're not bleeding I guess... I wonder if I can still use that tomato, though. I guess the cheese will cover up any lumps.
There, you found it. If you want any of the guts you can have them too. Ahh, watch out though... you're getting bits of brain everywhere. They'll get in the cheese and I'll have to go and find those robot cows again. I think they were getting annoyed at me too. It took a long time to find the right button for cheese. It was in an odd place and my arm nearly wasn't long enough... but I know where it is now, so I can get cheese to make food for Mukuro-sama every day. I can get milk from them too. Being able to drink milk every day will be nice. And it's good that the button warned that the milk was not for kittens. They made the robots wrong though. The ones that make milk look like bulls.
The plants here are also strange. I looked for mushrooms... but the trees tried to touch me. So I had to burn them. All I could find were these little white box-shaped fruit. They taste okay... so they'll do. The leaves had odd questions on them though. I wonder what Mukuro-sama thinks about reality television... or how he takes care of his hair. I will learn when I finally meet him. His hair looks soft to touch, and I think he must be even taller and more handsome than in my dreams... and I'll finally hear his gentle voice for myself, not just in my head.
... why are you laughing?
