Character: Abarai Renji
Series:
BleachAge: …He can pass as High schooler.
Canon: Renji is the Vice-Captain of the 6th division. He grew up
with Rukia Kuchiki in Rukongai and they entered the Central Spiritual Arts
Academy together. After he graduated and spent some time in the 5th and 11th
divisions, he was promoted to Vice-Captain just in time to arrest Rukia and
send her to death-row.
Sucks to be him.
Renji is a dork. I mean, he buys sunglasses that cost him half of his year’s
paycheck, and then they always get broken. And he wears flowery, pink
yukata.
But he does have some pretty damn awesome
tattoos. Right. So, whoever it was that gave me the wrong
coordinates? Thank you. No, really.
I'm hoping it was a terrible mistake because you don't want me to get all
angry. That would be a dammed tragedy.
So it's a good thing I'm such a nature-lover! And what's not to love? The
fresh air, the trees, the zombies, the occasional hidden pit with
god-knows-what at the bottom! Hours of enjoyment! Other shinigami might have
cried or gone on a homicidal rampage, but not me. No, no, Abarai Renji is in
touch with nature. And nature is in touch with him too. And what a
bad touch it is.
But see, as much as I’d like a vacation and get away from Captain Kuchiki’s
poetry, getting lost in some creepy woods wasn’t the first on my list of
‘Things I Want To Do’. Or even the last. Shocking I know!
And zombies? My tattoos are not marker and you all can stop trying to
play tic-tac-toe on my face when I’m asleep.
Poll Vote! Character: Agatsuma Soubi
Series:
LovelessAge: 20
Canon: In Loveless, there are Fighters and Sacrifices who are paired up together to form teams based on their true names. Agatsuma Soubi, whose true name is Beloved, was the Fighter half of a pair until his Sacrifice, Aoyagi Seimei, dies. After Seimei's death, Soubi is entrusted to Seimei's younger brother, Aoyagi Ritsuka, whose true name is Loveless. Together, Soubi and Ritsuka are searching for clues to find out who is responsible for Seimei's murder.
Soubi is pretty easy-going and friendly, but he is also the type of person that can declare undying love and talk of murder in the same sentence without even batting an eyelash. He claims to hate beautiful things; yet all he draws are paintings of butterflies and flowers. And while he claims to dislike pain, Soubi is still extremely masochistic. Even though his wish is to be completely controlled by Ritsuka, the person most important to him, this doesn't stop Soubi from constantly lying to him. Soubi is also extremely touchy-feely and affectionate towards Ritsuka, trying to maintain at least some sort of physical contact with him at all times. He likes to kiss and tease him. A lot. He often tells Ritsuka that he loves him and is willing to give him everything. Literally. His heart, his soul and even his life.
Next to Ritsuka, Soubi's best friend, self-proclaimed wife, and fellow student is Kio - who is, coincidentally, head-over-heels in love with him.
To my adorable Ritsuka,
This is probably one of the more interesting experiences of my entire life. I have no idea where I am and I can't leave. What bothers me the most is that I can't sense you anywhere or get through to your cell phone. I know we were supposed to meet in the park the other day, but clearly that isn't going to happen. I'm sorry. You probably won't believe me, but I only closed my eyes for two seconds and the next thing I know, I'm in this clearing and there's blood splattered everywhere...
You know that blood doesn't bother me, but if you could see the tiny zombie kiwi birds that were lapping it up as if it were water, you would understand. I have to admit they're kind of cute in that weird "banzai kitty" sort of way though. And don't laugh, but they've been following me around for a few days now and it almost seems as if they've adopted me as a mother figure. They even give me presents. Although I'm not quite sure exactly what I'm going to do with a half-eaten rabbit, but it's the thought that counts. ♥
And Ritsuka, I know that you're missing me terribly right now but please do try to hold on. I just want you to be strong and know that I'm always thinking about you. And even if thinking of me keeps you awake at night, which I know it does of course, you should never give up hope. We will be reunited one day. I know my love will reach you even across the great distance of... whatever it is that is between us. I love you and I--
I have to go. I just stepped on one of the babies and I think I killed it. If you never receive another letter from me then I'm probably dead. Sorry.
Forever yours,
Soubi

Ash RedfernSeries:
The Night World: Daughters of Darkness
Age: approximately 18
Canon: The Night World is a society within a society; a place for the supernatural -- vampires, witches, werewolves, shapeshifters -- within the world of humans. In the Night World, there are really only two laws, and they are strictly upheld. They are (1) Never let a human find out the Night World exists, and (2) Never fall in love with a human. The series is basically a long chain of events about when the rules get broken, as well as the impending apocalypse in the later half.
Ash Redfern was known as one of the most wild and ruthless Night People (particularly amongst his familial vampires), toying with humans before he eventually killed them. He was egostotical, self-centered, a player, a killer, and hinted at so much worse. He has, however, broken the two Night World laws, so despite his front, he's also trying to do some good deeds to make up for his past. He's currently a part of Circle Daybreak--a circle within the Night World which is trying to convince Night People and humans to live peacefully. And working to stop the apocalypse.
You call singing ferns a welcoming committee? I've heard better harmonizing from wolves howling. While they're burning. Alive.
Of course, I'm sure who or whatever taught them is going to put up a fight. "What would you know? You can't even sing!" Which is true, but I'm not tone deaf, either. Though after that, possibly just deaf. I'd offer to take the position of Beethoven reincarnated, but there's the whole "can't carry my own tune" issue getting in the way.
I know, I know, you're so offended that this stranger is coming in to criticize your singing plants. I'm sure your kind hasn't even heard of the great Ash Redfern. But in case you have... how about we set aside time for a little chat? Pleasant talk over cappucino and Danish muffins, maybe? Preferably without you attempting to stab me for some past misunderstanding we've once had? You know, most people can leave the whole "Oh my God, you killed me/my family/my friends" issue in the past where it belongs. Though if I killed you, I'll have to wonder why you're still bitching. You should be well over that by now.
Sheesh. Dead people are such whiners; just because they can't talk, breathe, or eat--and incidentally, that reminds me! Is there a decent bite in these parts that doesn't reek of, well, bloodless flesh? I'm not particular with the smell, really, it'd just be nice to know that blood ran through these things' veins at some point in their recent life.
And I swear to God if I hear the plantlife sing "Do Your Nards Hang Low?" one more time I'm going to eviscerate someone.

Series: Cowboy Bebop [links yay:

The Jazz Messengers]
Age: 13
Canon: Canon: Brief show background: The year is 2021. A system of hyperspace gates were built across the solar system. Everything was fine and dandy until the Earth gate exploded. Thus, Earth was no longer a safe, or stable, place to live. Time to boldly go where no man has gone before and colonize the rest of the solar system. Yay. Fifty years later we find the spaceship 'Bebop', home to four bounty hunters (and one dog) who are always short on money AND food, but never on trouble.
On Ed: Oooh, how does one describe Ed? I think "eccentric" is a good word. Crazy, unpredictable, strange, easily-distracted and brilliant also work. Ed is a hacker from Earth - earning the nickname "Radical Edward" and an epic reputation for her shenanigans. Ed can break virtually any code with ease, or hack any spaceship to make it remote-controlled. She loves to laugh, sing, make goofy rhymes and pal around with Ein - the Bebop's resident smarter-than-the-average dog. Oh yes, she also refers to herself in the third person.
Camp, camp, campity-camp! Helloooo camp people! Ed is heeere! Ed has never been to a camp before. Neither has Ein, isn't that right Ein? Woof woof!
Trees and flowers, here to greet you, and the squirrels will try to eat yoooooooooooou... Oh, hello Mister Scary Camp Person!
...
You don't look so good. Maybe you need some lotion like Ed's friend, Faye-Faye! ...Eeeew! You need to take a bath, Scary Camp Person! You smbell fuddy. Ed has do hold Ed's dose... Fuddy, fuddy smbell. Hahaha! You talk funny too! Braaaaaaaaaaiiinnnnnsss! Braaaay-hay-haaaaains! What's that Ein? Don't you like Scary Camp Person?
Ein...? Do you see that? Water! Lake! Yaaaaay! Ed likes to go fishing! Jump, jump, jump right in! Take a bath and have a swim! La-dee-da, doo-doo--Yikes! Oooh-hooo-hooo! There's an alien in the lake, Ein! Hellooo Mister Alien! Are you fishing? Ed likes to fish too, but Ed never catches anything. Maybe we can go fishing together! What do you think, hmm? Mister Alien? Whoa! No, no! Put Ed dooooown!
...Oof! Haha. That was fun. Aw, Ein. Mister Alien was just being friendly.
Hm, Ed likes this camp already! Braaaaaaaaaaaiiiiinnnnssss!
Poll Vote! Character: Tsukishiro Yukito
Series:
Card Captor Sakura (Playing the original Japanese version of CCS.)
Age: 17
Canon: Card Captor Sakura is a fun magical girl anime created by CLAMP. The main character is a young elementary school girl (obviously) named Sakura. It begins with Sakura discovering a mysterious book in her father’s study, opening it, and accidentally releasing magical cards known as Clow Cards into her home town of Tomoeda, causing many wacky adventures to ensue, and for new friends and enemies to pop up all over the series. Yukito’s part in the series is mainly as a secondary character until the end of the first season, where it is revealed that he is not really a human boy, but a front for an angelic-like creature named Yue, created by the great sorcerer, Clow Reed. He is the best friend of Sakura’s older brother, Toya, and also happens to be Sakura’s crush. He supposedly lives with his grandparents, but truly, they do not exist and he lives alone. As a result, he spends a considerable amount of time in Sakura and Toya’s home and is considered a part of their family. Yukito is a gentle, sweet-natured person who treats everyone in a polite and kind manner. He seems to have a special affinity with children and tends to spend more time with them than kids his own age. His only friend appears to be Toya, and it is soon revealed that Toya is “the number one person he cares about the most.” Yukito also has the tendency to eat nearly half his weight (and sometimes more), in order to help sustain having Yue as his alter ego. He also has amazing talent when it comes to sports, but doesn’t belong to a particular team of any kind.
Hello, everyone! It’s nice to meet you all, but, um… I think I’m lost. Could someone help me, perhaps? This doesn’t look like Umeshi Fujita’s Undefeated Soccer Camp, which is where I am supposed to be. There’s snow on the ground, for one, and a lot of forest for a place that’s supposed to be a sports camp. The only sports field I’ve even found is what looks like a baseball field, but again, the snow would make it a little hard to play, I think. I’m curious as to why there’s snow on the ground in the summertime anyway. Maybe someone could tell me about it?
Oh yes, and a friend of mine, Kinomoto Toya, was supposed to meet me here. I hope he didn’t get lost too. We were going to travel together, but Toya had some last minute things to do, and Kinomoto-san would have had to go out of his way to drive me here anyway, and… I hope he’s ok…
I was also wondering if, perhaps, anyone had seen my bike? It, um… this is going to sound strange, I’m sure, but it… it ran away from me. I was riding it down one of the paths I found and it… bucked me off, or that’s what it felt like, anyway, then pedaled off into the woods. I’m alright, of course, but… it had most of my things hanging on the handlebars. It’s blue, and it has a basket on the front. Also, if anyone happens to notice any gym bags on the ground, could you return them to me?
All I have left is my brochure for the camp, and it, uh, did something strange. It, well, changed, and now reads “Camp Fuck You Die, (sucker),” on the cover, and there’s a drawing of what I think is a purple squid and lots of tentacles with people running away from it. And when I opened it and started reading the contents over, it had some things in it that I know were not in the old brochure I had. I would have remembered it if I had read something about a murder mystery, of all things, or… purple gorillas? Is this brochure supposed to be a joke, or something? I really don’t understand.
Well, uh, until I figure out where I am, and if Toya is here, and where my bike went to and all… does anyone have something I could eat? I have to admit, I'm very hungry, and breakfast was a whole hour ago... thank you in advance!
Poll Vote! Character: Irene "Rally" Vincent
Series:
Gunsmith CatsAge: 20 at the end of the series; however, her ID says she's 23
Canon: Rally Vincent runs a gunshop, Gunsmith Cats, in Chicago with her bomb-freak partner, Minnie-May Hopkins. While this seems like an exciting enough life for most people, Rally Vincent is also a bounty hunter on the side - this is, in fact, where she gets most of her income. It's a good thing she's such a good bounty hunter, too, considering that she needs that money to fix her forever-abused beloved cars, buy rare and often not-quite-legal firearms, and pay her medical bills, which might not be so expensive if Rally's shounen dumbass side didn't show itself half the time. ("What, smashed ribs and a broken arm? Maybe this means I need to BREAK IN MY NEW GUN and then GO ON ANOTHER CASE." Brilliant. Also, completely canon.)
While she will shoot to kill, Rally will also do everything in her power to avoid doing so - she'd rather shoot off a thumb than kill someone. She also hates getting innocent people involved, and will emo like a Gundam-Jedi love child when innocent civilians get caught in the cross fire. Other than that, however, she'll do just about anything to get the bad guy in the end.
She loves what she does, too - as she once says, "I don't just shoot to shoot! I shoot for my ideals!" We're not quite sure what these ideals are, but you can rest assured whatever they are, we find them very hot with a gun. Which totally isn't the point of the series. Really. Sometimes she looks hot with CARS.
First things first: these zombies, "Elizabeth." Cute touch, nice costumes, and wow are there a lot of them, but if you're trying to scare people away from your base, then the Scooby Doo method just isn't going to cut it for this bounty hunter. Or most police officers, I would have thought. But you lose quite a few points when you not only brainwash your own men, but you don't even give them weapons- I just don't see the point! Or the fun, to be honest. Hitting an unarmed target is hardly sporting or exciting.
On that note, I would like it said that while the offer of the free shotgun was certainly appreciated, it was highly unnecessary. I have my own, you see, and of much better quality. ♥ Oh, my sweet little CZ-75~
I'll be honest. I didn't like the idea of this "relaxing vacation" when it was first forced upon me suggested to me - break a few ribs again, and suddenly everyone's on your case to "get away and rest for a bit"! Really, "rest for a bit" is just another way of saying "bored out of my skull for the next month."
Actually, to tell the truth, this vacation's been looking up so far - especially when I heard that there was an escaped bounty in the area! You see, I'm supposed to be in Atlanta, actually, but once I heard the bounty - more than enough to fix up the Cobra again and maybe some left over to pay some of those medical bills - well, it's not like there was much in Atlanta anyways, right? After all, Louisiana is much more interesting and...historical, and...scenic! I do love the swamps, you know.
Especially when the swamps come with a $650,000 bounty on their head. ♥
Poll Vote! Character: The Childlike Empress (a.k.a. Golden-eyed Commander of Wishes, a.k.a. Moon Child)
Series:
The Neverending StoryAge: Ageless, but always childlike.
Canon: The Neverending Story is a book (and movie) about a boy named Bastian who steals a book and literally gets pulled into the story. More than that, it's a book about the book he stole, which follows a boy named Atreyu as he tries to find a cure for the ruler of Fantastica (Fantasia in the movies), The Childlike Empress, and also save their world since Fantastica is tied to her life. From the book:
'The Childlike Empress- as her title indicates- was looked upon as the ruler over all the innumerable provinces of the Fantastican Empire, but in reality she was far more than a ruler; she was something entirely different.
She didn't rule, she had never used force or made use of her power. She never issued commands, and she never judged anyone. She never interfered with anyone and never had to defend herself against any assailant; for no one would have thought of rebelling against her or harming her in any way. In her eyes all her subjects were equal.
She was simply there in a special way. She was the center of all life in Fantastica.
And every creature, whether good or bad, beautiful or ugly, merry or solemn, foolish or wise- all owed their existance to her existance. Without her, nothing could have lived, any more than a human body can live if it has lost its heart.'
The Childlike Empress only shows up in the flesh for a few chapters, during which she gets renamed Moon Child because a new name is the cure she needed, but at its heart the story revolves around her. For most of it we just hear about how she's fair, and serious, and kind, but toward the end of the book we find out that she has a fairly creepy other side. Long story short: humans read the book, give her a new name, and get pulled into Fantastica. She makes all their wishes come true, but every time they make a wish they lose part of their memory. In the end they either decide to try to wish themselves Emperor of Fantastica and lose all the rest of their memory at once (because you can't use her power to wish yourself into her place), or they more gradually just wish them all away. Either way, their mindless shells end up in the City of Old Emperors, where she's put a monkey in charge of guarding them. Only a very few people escape this fate and make it back to Earth. This is all doubly creepy when you think back to how Bastian was brought into Fantastica and realize that the readers have no choice as to whether they come and start wishing or not; if they don't name her on their own she'll force them into an endless circle where they reread the story again and again and can only break it by giving her a name.
I had wished to travel through Fantastica, to see my beautiful realm restored while I waited for my Bastian to use all his wishes. But, I'm afraid something's gone wrong.
There should be no place in Fantastica that I don't know, no place that doesn't know me, but this... Where is this place? It looks as though it should be part of the Land of Ghosts, but just a moment ago that was far to the north of me, and now I can't feel it at all. Or anywhere else in Fantastica, for that matter. I don't understand it!
I found a pretty, if a little light-starved, vegetable patch someone had planted in the woods, and decided that it would be a nice place to sit a while and try to think about what had happened. But, almost as soon as I'd sat down, a tomato shot fire at me. And then the others nearby joined in! Nothing in Fantastica has ever tried to harm me! Nothing would dare!
It is my policy to always treat everything I come across fairly, so it will only be fair to smash everything I come across that tries setting me on fire the way I did those tomatoes. This will be your only warning.
Now I realize that I should have taken that as a warning that nothing good could grow here, but then I just wanted to rest. It's very trying, being attacked for the first time! So I found a patch of sunlight, and tried to grow myself a bed.
I may not know as much about plants as some, but you can't sleep inside of magnolias for as many years as I have without realizing that they should not have mouths.
I've been wandering since then, but I've at last found the outskirts of a small village, and I even think I see some people nearby. I just need to get a little closer, and then I can--
I--
I understand where I am now. If this is what the human world is like, it's no wonder they always let themselves be drawn into Fantastica so deeply. Even the darkest parts of my realm must be preferable to this.
I wonder if any of these humans would care to read a book?
