Apps are now closed! As a side note, we'd like to make a request - please do not comment to the CFUD comms with journals from other games! Your personal journal is cool (and wlu audience). Your character journals are fine! But it's been getting a biiiit confusing when X character journal from another game comments to an OOC comm post or what have ( Read more... )

My outs went to Near and Kuga Natsuki.

Short crit:

- Near, your app is really rather short. I'm not actually all that familiar with the second half of Death Note, so I couldn't get much of a grasp on his voice from the app. And while the idea of commanding the squirrels around is cute and amusing, it doesn't seem like something which would naturally occur to a character from Death Note? Wacky death notebooks aside, it is set in "our" world.

- Kuga: again I am canonblind, and I quite simply didn't find the voice in the app to match the one described in your canon section.

Yeah, I realized it was short when I sent it in, but I didn't want to pad it out. I'm not fond of sticking filler in just for wordcount, and too many jokes wouldn't be right for Near - but too much dry material and the app would become unreadable. So I left it and hoped people would judge on what there was, not what there wasn't. As for the squirrels, Near makes use of whatever he can. He's an extremely manipulative character. And crack is what camp is for.

I feel you on the wordcount issue, honestly. I have a really hard time mustering to get any of my apps past the 400 word mark. Every essay/academic paper I have ever written has wound up being at least a page short.

You say Near is manipulative, but how is he manipulative? That's something you could use to center/expand your app around.
