*There are some large white tents set up tonight, brightly lit by candles and filled with the sound of festive music. They are also filled with food and drink, if music isn't your thing. Platters of seafood and candied fruit and pastries, bottles of wine and champagne and non-alcoholic beverages for those of you who are under age. (Chances are good that you will be greeted and urged towards them by a Spanish anthromorphization or Italian nobleman and those of you who pay attention to such things might notice a cultural theme to the food and music.) Red and gold fabric banners decorate the place, as do ice statues and evergreen wreathes, for the most part clear of mistletoe.
Fancy dress is encouraged at such a swanky event, of course. Camp may be nudging any unwilling guests towards a more suitable dresscode. It would not do to ring in 2012 in unfashionable garb, don't you think? The year laying claim to the end of the world should be greeted in style, after all!*
(new year's eve party technically hosted by spain and cesare although neither of us are running this. Mingle! ♥)
